This "game" if you can call it that is nothing more than simply addictive, its an annoying never ending grind, a grind that Bungie intentionally prolongs to keep you playing, all they care about is money. Been playing since day 1 beta, not sure why I still am, have over 2750 hours in this game and yknow what, yesterday I put Destiny away and pulled out Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, played 1 hour of it and you know what? I had more fun in that hour than I have had in the entire 2750 hours I have put into Destiny. There is one reason for this, a game has one purpose and one purpose only, to make the player have fun, thats the sole purpose of a game, its not a game if there is no fun involved. A game is not supposed to be a job or feel like work which is exactly what Destiny does and I place the blame soley on Bungie for turning this "game" of huge potential into the dead end job it feels like. Edit: Yes I am aware its my choice to play the game, obviously people don't seem to grasp the fact that you don't know me or who I am, what my life is like, so making assumptions out of nothing is not a good thing to do. I still play in the hope that one day this "game" will be what I and MANY others want it to be.

  • Agreed I might actually stop defending destiny due to lack of content or communication of what's upcoming. I mean what's the point of playing if we know no real important content is upcoming or not, I don't know it would be better to know what's coming out then grinding blind hoping they can give us a solid game with actual content. Step it up bungie your starting to become a huge disappointment.

  • Started playing elderscrolls online. Loving it. Tons of stuff to to do. Started crafting armor and weapons and as I level up I can bring them with me. My favorites don't get left behind just because of new dlc. I can make that same armor look any way I want lots of visual options and shaders. End game content that scales .. No group dungeons left behind. Easy to join groups and chat with people. IF I SEE IT I CAN GO TO IT. good pvp and pve. When you hit max lvl you can still advance your character through a champion system that would take a very long time to cap off. Class respec options available. Not trying to sell people on it just love mmo style gameplay and this game delivers on everything destiny promised and fell short of. If your looking for a break from destiny give eso a shot. Fallout 4 is also great for my pve fix and black ops 3 for my first person shooter pvp fix. I still love destiny but after a year of let downs tons of content left behind from endgame and weapons I love being useless everytime new dlc comes out and now time gated content I need a break. New players will enjoy the game but will not get the same experience vanilla players enjoyed throughout year one.

Really REALLY don't understand this argument from people...: a grind that Bungie intentionally prolongs to keep you playing, all they care about is money" We pay no monthly fee, no subscription fees. How exactly does the grind=money???

  • We paid £40/$60 for a game that was supposed to include The Crap Below and The House of Nothing, both of them were then sold to us for the price of an entire new game, not worth it any way you slice it. Then we did pay the full price for TTK, even though it was better its ultimately fizzled out into zero content again with nothing to do. Whats more on top of everything we have paid for Bungie still have not even given us a solid base to play on, relying on our OWN internet connections to form the base to play on their game, P2P doesn't work. The final point to this argument comes in the form of Micro--Transactions, simply a way to get more money off its community. Micro-Transactions should never have made it into the gaming industry, they are a cancer to this and many other games. You use MT for online mobile games or pay monthly to play the game, but not after you have already bought the whole game and paid triple the price you were supposed to for the non-existent content we were all shown but never got. Defend Bungie all you want, you will never turn the opinion of the community from what they have taken from us and not given back, we have given them millions in money and all this time and what have they given back to us? Not enough, the demans are so high from the community because Bungie constantly overhype the shit out of their contentless stock, if you don't want us to moan, don't overhype it, just be honest instead of lying. Big difference between a company after a profit and a company fueled by greed, Bungie comfortable sits in the latter of them two. Hope this helps you to understand where us people who got screwed over by a company that we have stood by loyally for over a year and a half now are coming from.

  • Bungie created a game where every week you can hop on, play a little with randoms or your friends, and enjoy yourself... you however allow your completionist attitude to delude the game since you feel the need to try to do everything, max everything, and own everything - which is fine but certainly doesn't make the game a grind simply because you can't get everything in one playthrough. Sure uncharted and fallout 4 are great now, but give a month or 2 and boom you've done everything there is to do... and the pvp? Don't take it so seriously sit back, play how you want, and enjoy it ... if lags a concern, back out and find a new game, still lagging? It's probably you, the chances of getting multiple games that are Severely affected by lag are low... Tl;Dr the games fun, there's still plenty of room for improvement, and chances are people will be playing this game a lot longer then some other console games. Keep up the good work bungie

  • Totally agree with your comments, I myself have only been on destiny once in two months just to see if i could get back into it and within ten minutes i just couldn't stand it and went back to playing metal gear. Like other have said i only pop on the forums to see if there have been any improvements, But i don't see how charging people £10 for a stats book for sparrow racing after paying over £130-£140 for the base game and all dlc is a improvement, its a insult.

  • Shouldn't be playing a game unless your having fun otherwise its just the same as working a dead end job. Stay happy in gaming, if your not, its not right, switch it up :)

  • Dude, try Fallout 4... Also blows Destiny away. I would seriously only play Destiny for the PvP aspect, PvE is horrible. Too bad I bought it for PvE as I'm more into a game for it's story line... Oops... Wish someone would have warned me about Destiny before I got sucked in

  • Don't worry I play other games on a regular basis, other than PVP the game currently has absolutely nothing to do except help others who haven't done anything. Its amazing, played a game that actually had a story in it and I had this thing called "fun" huh... who knew a game could be fun, guess im too used to Destiny to not know what fun was in a game anymore lol

  • I agree with you on a lot of this. I find however, that destiny/video games is more of a compulsion, not addiction. I do believe bungie really needs to add more content to make the game more "game-like", or so to speak, rather than a chore. Most of the reason I play destiny is the social aspect with friends, less the gameplay. Without friends, I wouldn't really recommend destiny.

  • Hmm thats a good point, I can agree with that, there is an addiction towards the game, you could call it compulsive as well, however the social aspect the game brings is something that holds many players in the game, even when there is nothing to do, many people that play Destiny just don't get along with people in real life as much as they do on Destiny. It can be a place you can earn your own respect and be a person that is accepted, unlike the twats in real life that won't. Destiny without friends would just have never gotten close to what it is now, it maybe might have stayed around for a couple of months but then everyone would have just put it down, pvp would have been the only thing keeping it going and we all know how broken that is.

  • The reason the game is like this is because Activision got rid of the original guy (forgot his name) story and plotline. He left with his story and everything else he could of sued them for. Bungie had only less than a year to make the destiny we see today. Destiny was suppose to come with the taken king plotline. It was suppose to be more open world than it is. Activision is a money hungry company. Best thing to do is let destiny die so hopefully bungie can get out of the contract with Activision. I'm playing diablo 3 atm. Once the division comes out...... Destiny should eventually fade away. Only the diehard fans will play then.

The problem with it is that its a great game IN TERMS OF the social aspect and the gunfights, that is it, everything else in the game is just a chore and unfortunately everytime they bring some new content to it everyone will come back and get hooked on them two things that the game has. Bungie and Activision made an absolute joke of a game with the most potential I have ever seen. Joe is the guys name you were looking for with the story and plotline, he was wrongfully dismissed by Bungie due to the supercut of the game not being up to the standards the higher ups were after, hence why he turned around and rightfully sued Bungie for every penny, Bungie chose money in front of what Joe wanted, a good game, Bungie are the luckiest company in the world with what they gotten away with so far. Get this they didn't believe the game would sell as well with storyline and cinematics taking up large portions of time... One of the biggest things we wanted from day 1 and they thought it wasn't good. Bottom line is Bungivision got torn in 2 halves, one half wanted the amazing game we were all advertised, the other half wanted money and sold us the crap we play today. As always money wins :(
