So, I'm finally getting into Witcher 3

I really enjoyed Witcher 2. So I picked up 3 when it first came out. Tried it and didn't get into it, though I knew I probably would if I put more time into it. Shelved it in favor of whatever I was in the middle of at the time. Then played other things. Then Fallout released. I'm now back into it. Level 17. Wow. I already feel like this is my GOTY. The amount of open space and enemies and encounters between objectives and towns in this open world is just right. I actually use my horse in a game like this for once. I like the fast travel mechanic in this game more than any other because it forces you to do a bit of hoofing it first. The atmosphere and ambient music is also amazing. The world and how you acquire quests is done in the way I wish Dragon Age Inquisition was done. I'm more invested in the DA universe, but Witcher 3 is really making me want to get more into the universe and lore. I have acquired the first book, The Last Wish, and will read it when I finish what I'm reading now.

 • Good on you! The game is incredible. I discourage you from fast travelling, though. TW3 is the first game I've never fast travelled in. It started out as me finding so many cool things on the road, now I just like the views and the journey. Be sure to get the DLC when you're level 30 and completed the game - it's easily the best dlc I've played in such a long time and the story is one I won't be forgetting. The books are also goddamn incredible, be sure to read them all.
