Yeah, the blast radius of the hammers are a -blam!-ing joke in its current state. I made a 5min video showing clips of how weak the hammers have become and how inconsistent they are. You think I'm bullshiting? Just watch the video and you will see what I'm talking about. This is not me crying, I want CONSISTENT! If i hit someone with a hammer I want a kill in return, I wanted to be rewarded for being accurate not punished. Just make the Blast radius of the hammer i bit bigger and it will solve itself.

For the people saying: "Golden Gun has no blast radius and kills on impact, so HoS needs to kill on impact too".
Difference between HoS and GG:
GG: insta-kill lazer beam with a big ass hitbox (almost impossible to miss) in 1st person (very easy to aim) with 0 travel time and unlimited range (in PvP)
HoS: Has travel time (which was increased with 2.1), effected by gravity, doesn't go in a straight line, 3rd person aim (which can be very awkward)
HoS works basicly like a rocket, you can get as accurate as you can with them. Do you expect from a rocket to kill someone only if it directly impacts them? I'm not saying that the hammers should have the same power as a rocket (not by a longshot), but when I throw a hammer right next to/in front of the enemy I except to get a kill. Not to mention that it is almost impossible to hit a player who uses blink/shadestep/twilight garrison. So yeah we need a little blast radius buff to make this super CONSISTENT again, because right now its the most inconsistent super in the game along with arcblade.
And even when you land a DIRECT hit, it fails to kill the player which is very sad. Clink link below for another clip of how inconsistent the super is:

3 RepliesLooks like they are surviving because of the 2.0 matchmaking updates that now match players on KD where it used to be connection based. Now your probably playing against players from Malaysia, China, New Zealand, Africa etc etc, and they lag, they lag really really really bad, so bad they survive Hos, sniper shots dont register etc, what has happened to you is they opposing player/team are lagging, so the Destiny game system is balancing that by adding latency to YOU, in theory that should make it even..but it doesn't. The guy you hit with your hammer wasn't in that exact spot, he appeared to you as though he was, but he had moved by the time its on your screen, lag. Bungie know, they dont care. That is why its difficult to get crucible games that don't have awful lag now, used to be ok, now its rubbish.

agree, it's pretty much unusable now - I keep changing it back, hoping I was just rubbish hahah but now. RIP Hammer time, the emote should be deleted.

1 ReplyI think this is what's going on. The explosion radius was nerfed but they didn't reduce the distance for proximity detonation. This means that the hammers are exploding in the air way too early before they are close enough for the explosion to kill the target.

It still takes the exact same 6 hammers to kill that ultra knight after the patch,same distance(right at doorway as you enter the room with the knight). It's called aiming,you get a site that pops up where your hammer will land,use it. Hunters with GG still had to aim for the last 15 months,you can learn to aim also.

I hate titans. Before the nerf they were so unfair and just ridiculous. I do not feel bad for titans at all i really despise them. But you are right the hammers are really bad now

Blast radius isn't the problem. If it hits them, it should kill them. Same with blade dancer, whatever they did to -blam!- those supers up hard - they need to fix it.

I understand your complaint as these issues are repeated with the Bladedancer super. Just jump and you cant be killed.
