Yeah, the blast radius of the hammers are a -blam!-ing joke in its current state. I made a 5min video showing clips of how weak the hammers have become and how inconsistent they are. You think I'm bullshiting? Just watch the video and you will see what I'm talking about. This is not me crying, I want CONSISTENT! If i hit someone with a hammer I want a kill in return, I wanted to be rewarded for being accurate not punished. Just make the Blast radius of the hammer i bit bigger and it will solve itself.
Edit1:
For the people saying: "Golden Gun has no blast radius and kills on impact, so HoS needs to kill on impact too".
Difference between HoS and GG:
GG: insta-kill lazer beam with a big ass hitbox (almost impossible to miss) in 1st person (very easy to aim) with 0 travel time and unlimited range (in PvP)
HoS: Has travel time (which was increased with 2.1), effected by gravity, doesn't go in a straight line, 3rd person aim (which can be very awkward)
HoS works basicly like a rocket, you can get as accurate as you can with them. Do you expect from a rocket to kill someone only if it directly impacts them? I'm not saying that the hammers should have the same power as a rocket (not by a longshot), but when I throw a hammer right next to/in front of the enemy I except to get a kill. Not to mention that it is almost impossible to hit a player who uses blink/shadestep/twilight garrison. So yeah we need a little blast radius buff to make this super CONSISTENT again, because right now its the most inconsistent super in the game along with arcblade.
And even when you land a DIRECT hit, it fails to kill the player which is very sad. Clink link below for another clip of how inconsistent the super is:

Keep giving links to videos where a hammer should but didnt kill the target, Bungie needs to adress this.

Learn to aim you scrub. You got too used to getting easy kills when you didn't even have to hit someone for a kill.
-
I agree, but at the same time, I'm learning how to use it over again. I will say that it was much too easy to get a kill with the HoS. Now, it's tough as hell, but it's still possible. There are some bs moments where you know a person should have died (like the Warlock in your first clip) but they don't die. But at the same time, it now needs you to be precise... almost too precise. It needs fixed, but you can still adjust to how it is now. I main a Titan and I've done it, so why can't you other Titan mains?

2 RepliesEdited by Hondaenthu93: 12/26/2015 3:56:21 PMWell if you hit someone the blast radius wouldn't matter. So you do get rewarded for hitting someone. Basically you're saying you should get rewarded for ALMOST hitting them. Right? Edit: I think people need to start using it more at nova bomb range and use it more methodically like golden gun. Rather then popping it immediately and expecting to kill everything in sight no matter the distance. I pop golden gun when I know there is at least 2 people to use it on. Seems like HoS users just pop it and run around looking to kill anything and everything which you can't do anymore.
-
You do realize you're actually supposed to hit people with it right. Your aims so bad you're practically only relying on blast radius, that's when you know you were one of those people that just randomly threw hammers getting kills. Learn to aim
-
welcome to lag. I've hit someone 6 times with a hammer and they didn't die. You know what I didn't do, whine on the forums, you know why? Lag.
-
That looks like a bug, not some intentional nerf.
-
No way it was to op before. Welcome to balance.
-
6 RepliesJust hit them with the hammer not around them
-
I was direct impacting people and it wasn't even registering damage. It took down a few people's shields. It wouldn't kill though
-
2 RepliesSure and make golden gun chain like the supercell too
-
You mean u want consistancy, not consistant, silly
-
Would still very much like to know what control scheme you are using.
-
I never hit anything with them, the nerf, added to the latency of red n yellow bar players, n low speed make it feel like I'm lucky to get 1 kill. I'll often kill someone and trade coz the hammer travels so slow
-
If you could actually hit the target , than you wouldn't have to worry about blast radius

Edited by Star Gazer2: 12/26/2015 4:52:16 PMFound this montage about the Sunbreaker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhoEgWgXhFg Then they got nerfed...

Hunter Main here, all 3 characters too. And. Bump.

Edited by mandog_123: 12/26/2015 4:43:21 PMIt just makes aiming hammers extremely fun and satisfying when you get a kill but I agree with you the blast radius sucks unless you have Forgemaster.

I completely agree, but good luck getting a majority around here to do so as well. It just isn't going to happen. Most people are just glad that they are not seeing every crucible match looking like it just had heavy artillery called in on it by an indestructible God. So it is now "working as intended" for everyone that mains other classes. I can only hope that people at Bungie spend a lot of time playing their game and they will notice it too, although I'm starting to think everyone their plays Hunters. That would in fact explain a great deal... There's no question that Sunbreakers needed a nerf. Just about everyone was calling for it on a defense level, so you could then kill these particular variants of Titans. Had they only done that, I think the spec would be exactly where it needed to be. Unfortunately, they also greatly nerfed their offensive capabilities, and this combined with the defense nerf put Sunbreakers in a very bad place. Supers should never be hard to use. It takes a while to build them up, and when you get them it should be a very high percentage of point click profit. Now however Sunbreakers are squishy, and can't last long enough to try and line up those slow arcing small blast hammers in third person with no reliable way to aim. Sure you can get kills with them still, just not as easily as any other super. Bottom line, Bungie took the nerf too far and because of this Sunbreaker requires more skill and luck now than any other other super. Much like Autorifles in year 1, with one nerf they have gone from best to worst, which just should not have happened.

13 RepliesGG doesn't have a blast radius, why should HoS?
-
1 ReplyIs that really how bad HoS was nerfed? Are you sure that your game wasn't laggy and the hits just didn't register? I have 3 warlocks and I feel bad for HoS titans if that is what Bungie did to them. However, a nerf was needed, though I don't think that badly.
-
SB is a joke now.for real they dont know how to fix a class or a gun in this blam! Game.same thing with BD(i main titan)BD class is so bad in TTK.next is the SC class. Blam!that s**t man im out.

1 ReplyEdited by Star Gazer2: 12/26/2015 4:37:12 PMTo the comments: Stop Blaming the Lag! Also for those comparing HoS to GG, one thing: Travel Time, GG has none, HoS is slow, slower too since the nerf. Someone also post this evidence too, so is this lag too? http://xboxclips.com/Crystic/8c6a4df9-f4b4-4a80-a4d7-fea21d1db28a
-
Agreed. Bungie needs to buff the sunbreaker blast radius, and bladedancer damage.
-
Couple of the hammers you threw in the video were just misses the rest were hits but due to lag didn't register. There are hardly any matches without lag in crucible. It sucks but that is just the way it is without dedicated servers.
-
So is the radius of fist of havoc, and strikers have six less tries to hit their target.
