Yeah, the blast radius of the hammers are a -blam!-ing joke in its current state. I made a 5min video showing clips of how weak the hammers have become and how inconsistent they are. You think I'm bullshiting? Just watch the video and you will see what I'm talking about. This is not me crying, I want CONSISTENT! If i hit someone with a hammer I want a kill in return, I wanted to be rewarded for being accurate not punished. Just make the Blast radius of the hammer i bit bigger and it will solve itself.

For the people saying: "Golden Gun has no blast radius and kills on impact, so HoS needs to kill on impact too".
Difference between HoS and GG:
GG: insta-kill lazer beam with a big ass hitbox (almost impossible to miss) in 1st person (very easy to aim) with 0 travel time and unlimited range (in PvP)
HoS: Has travel time (which was increased with 2.1), effected by gravity, doesn't go in a straight line, 3rd person aim (which can be very awkward)
HoS works basicly like a rocket, you can get as accurate as you can with them. Do you expect from a rocket to kill someone only if it directly impacts them? I'm not saying that the hammers should have the same power as a rocket (not by a longshot), but when I throw a hammer right next to/in front of the enemy I except to get a kill. Not to mention that it is almost impossible to hit a player who uses blink/shadestep/twilight garrison. So yeah we need a little blast radius buff to make this super CONSISTENT again, because right now its the most inconsistent super in the game along with arcblade.
And even when you land a DIRECT hit, it fails to kill the player which is very sad. Clink link below for another clip of how inconsistent the super is:

Keep giving links to videos where a hammer should but didnt kill the target, Bungie needs to adress this.

Ya it's over nerfed... It is supposed to have a blast radius but doesn't... I have hit many people with it and they still don't die... No to mention all the guys it hits at their feet and they take no damage... I have great internet so no problem there . If they want us to use this as a exact hit to kill power then it needs to have a more direct flight path with less hight and faster travel time. Also they need to reword the skill tree to reflect its actual ability... No explosion radius talk.

Yea they did go a little far on the nerf, they just needed to change the armor the rest was just fine. (Befor you say I'm salty, the Titan is my least played character and I mainly used defender/striker, even when sunbreakers were op I rarely used it)

1 ReplyWhat happens when everyone had a voice. So many things I enjoyed in game have been blasted into oblivion. Storm callers will be next no doubt. Not because they are OP but because this is the cycle. I miss Thorn. I miss Bladedancer feeling super. I miss my shotgun which has really just come full cycle back to the invective for PVP and is fine. Just means I have to close the gap and spam now instead of making the shot count. I miss my Nerwin's consistency.Still good but the difference can be felt. I'm sure I'll miss my Mida (again) soon enough as the tears flow across the Crucible. Funny thing is nothing in my performance has changed across these nerfs. I'm just as middle of the road as ever. Still scraping by just barely. Only difference is I am not motivated to play PVP as much.

I heard that when they nerved the blast radius the proximity explosion range that flame seeker gives you stayed the same, so the hammer explodes far away enough to do little damage if any.

While it definitely looks frustrating part of me wonders if control scheme has eve a little to do with it. So if I may, what control scheme are you using? I ask because I get the feeling it's default but I may be seeing it wrong. I just don't like how the jumpy gameplay is completely contradicted by the default controls. Which again I feel I'm seeing in the video.

9 RepliesAfter watching your videos, the nerf was perfect. You clearly missed on all your hammer throws, you shouldn't have gotten those cheap kills. Had you actually aimed, you probably would've gotten the kill. The only one that was close, the one in the drifter, had serious lag going on. That wasn't broken hammers, that was lag.

2 RepliesSo not to be a jerk but not once did you actually throw your hammer and actually hit the persons. You threw it to your right and under as the one jumped over you, you threw it to the left of the person and hit a car about 4 feet away from the person, you hit a brick wall a few feet from the person or you threw it at their feet as they jumped away and they were 4-5 feet away when it hit near the person. In no instance did you lead, predict or actually hit your target dead on. So while you damaged every single one of these folks you killed none of them because you grazed all of them....... Welcome to the world that Gunslingers and Sunsingers have lived in since day one... If a gunslinger had made any of the exact same shots you made, then they would have killed no one because they did not actually hit anyone. If a Sunsinger throws a fusion in the way you throw your hammer, he gets no kills either because he would not have stuck a single person with any of the aiming on display here. Sorry but I cannot support a buff until there is evidence of an actual hit not producing a kill.

Try giving Suncharge a try. It can still one shot people even in super form. As far as inconsistencies in damage, that needs to be reevaluated.

For the hammer I got from 1 to 3 mostly one and rarely 2… 3 is exotic. As for the stormcaller they deserve to have sniper range melee, guaranteed kill grenade and sniper range match long super and a 2 shot scout rifle because of their lack of taste. It is IMPOSSIBLE for a team of titans to win against a team of warlocks. Especially in Trials of osiris. The best part is when they use conspiracy theory or party crasher, that just makes it more fun. But eh the kids too have the right to win ! Just stay very far from them and headshot them with the no land beyond, that will make them happy for sure… ib4 the warlocks come to the forums and cry for nlb nerf ._.

I don't like posting the obvious, but at like 3 three parts in the beginning of the clips, it said you had a double kill.... I also think a lot of it can be blamed on lag.

No no no no no no no. The first hammer missed and should have done a little more damage but did not get the kill. The second hammer where you turned around thinking you had gotten the kill, which you should have but didn't. It was a dead on hit that didn't connect via lag.
