It's called random for a reason.
Try going to the Dreadnought and find the taken patrol mission, the one with the skull and crossbones symbol, there is always an ultra within that patrol mission.
I have a lot of luck getting exotics out of him.

As mentioned, this post was more a feeler to see if it was a community wide issue i should bring to Bungie's attention, or a local issue i need to deal with on my own. I am going with the later.

No I understand random, i also understand the algorithm used for random generators similar to the rng used for this type of scenario. The fact that even legendaries arent dropping shows at the least a SLIGHT hiccup in the code being used. I am getting the feeling its an issue with my playstation (or more likely my new internet, after my recent move)

No it doesn't show anything, it shows it's random and therefore working. Sometimes I go ten or so coins until I get lucky.

Ten coins till you get your first legendary? With the vanguard bonus active? Ill try to word this as politely as possible, how much programming experience do you have? Unless bungie entirely rewrote their code to give legendaries this rarely (if they did, the community would be going insane, so we can effectively rule that out.) Something is up. Exotic drops aside, which i too have gone ten or fifteen coins before an engram, the legendaries are the biggest flag here. From one or two legendary engrams per run, to two over the span of now 13 runs, an issue is occurring. There's no doubt there. I'm not blaming anyone, I'm trying to find the source of the issue.

And the ten coins to legendary reference refers to (in my case at least) running ten strikes with no legendary drops. (Again, i see how i worded that poorly, suggesting toc increases the legendary drops.)

With the taken king launch engrams drop at a higher rate so it's not hard to get 5 or more legendarys in ten strikes since sometimes it drops double and other times it may not happen. But to drop none may be a issue! I don't have it more do I have any problem getting exotics just the chest exotic, so I believe you are rite about it being something on your side!

My point exactly. As mentioned (multiple times) this post was less about three of coins, (though i understand the title is misleading) more as a feeler to see if it was a console wide, Bungie issue, or a localized network issue i can resolve on my own. It seems conclusive at this point that nobody else is having this issue, so i need to tinker with my network to resolve this.

What? Legendary engrams have never and will never drop that often and three of coins isn't anything to do with them. And it's nothing to do with your network, it's rng. I give up, like talking to a wall. You've decided what the issue is and that's all there is to it for you. I'm done.

Regardless, this got entirely out of hand. I was not trying to start shit. (Because its the internet and accomplishes nothing) I was trying to find out how to deal with an issue i was having.
