Love sets us apart. It drives some to do wondrous things, but it also fills us with hate and greed, and makes us do horrific things.

Animals love. Swans mate for life and many even die of a broken heart (not literally) if they're mate dies they will invariably enter a very depressive state stop eating sleeping etc and die due to the loss of their partner when evolutionary speaking there's no reason behind this they could simply just find another mate. Elephants grieve for their kind when they pass on and they will enact revenge upon an animal person or object if one where to kill their young or a march member. (One elephant had her baby hit by a train she then proceeded to wait 3 days by the train tracks awaiting the train and when it approached she derailed it.) Dogs (more of a sentimental one then anything I guess) show more love and companionship with a human owner then many get from their partners they will protect you with their lives even when beaten to an inch of their life (not a personal experience). Their are more but I'm sure you get the Jist.
