What's worst for me is that I think the booster back are counter-intuitive to the refer a friend system, which encourages teaming up with a veteran because you're under leveled. It's like the offer that option or the "Frack other people you got this guardian" approach.

You're right and it just shows how disjointed and Bungie's design philosophy is how little thought they put in beyond dollar signs.

It certainly seems to be going that way with everything that's happened in the last 3 months and I love this game. You don't play a game for over a year solid ignoring others and not love a game. I'd like to still believe that Bungie are having strings pulled by the evil puppeteers known as Activision, but to tell you the truth at this point it obviously doesn't matter because it IS happening. The only people who suffer are the faithful year 1 players who stuck with them and got them to this point. I don't want to go off point but I don't get how you invest $500M in a game. Earn that back in the first month, then proceed to screw the people who obviously liked your product. I will most likely shrink into the shadows and play other games (I'm not deluded, I will be back and I still have a clan to look out for) but I think I'll do my bit to lower Destiny stats of active players. Hey with how long it's taking to matchmake crucible games, looks like a lot of Guardians are doing that right now.

Unfortunate but completely true. I recruited a number of people in year 1 and ran raids with 4 different groups based on timing and year 2 killed it for me. I just don't like the direction of the game anymore. I don't think Bungie has a clue what they are doing. They had a plan for the universe itself, but not for a sustainment plan. This new XP boost is actually being called out by many gaming media sites (they basically all say its a rip off to some degree); http://www.techtimes.com/articles/116598/20151215/bungie-to-allow-players-to-boost-their-destiny-characters-by-paying-for-it.htm http://kotaku.com/destiny-is-now-selling-level-boosters-and-they-sure-co-1748105644 http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/12/15/is-bungie-out-of-line-selling-30-destiny-character-boosts/ http://www.gamezone.com/originals/destiny-s-new-level-packs-go-beyond-price-gouging-jxwe http://www.theverge.com/2015/12/15/10205490/destiny-the-taken-king-level-boost-packs-microtransactions-bungie Love or hate the opinions, I just picked a handful and there were many others, and they seem to be pretty unanimous..... I'm taking a long break from Destiny (all my friends moved on and don't intend to come back until a minimum of Destiny 2) and loving some of the other recent games. They are making me move further and further away from the grind/DLC/micro that Destiny is turning out to be. Don't get me wrong, they aren't the only guilty party (Battlefront is HORRIBLE for lack of content), but with games like Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider available, it's a good time to break. They seem to be pushing harder to get new, fresh people to come and play than trying to get old players back!

Amen to all of that brother. This game had such hope and promise. Hell even when the developer did nothing for the community in terms of enjoyment and socialising, the community did that for itself. LFGs of different types, Destiny Public Events, inventory apps, guides and let's not forget the helpful Youtubers. The fans have done so much for this game that it's even more of a stab in the back at this point. It does seem that all Guardians (for once) in the forums are agreed on this. And even stranger can talk about it without descending into flame wars. The first time we're together and it's against Bungie's ideology..... kinda funny but cool. I wasn't aware that the industry professionals also thought it bull as well though. That is good to know. Sounds like the Christmas noobs will have free run of the place while we're gone. Like I said I'll be back for occassions but I'm with you, time to play games made by devs who give a crap. Bioware, I've missed you guys. Take it easy Devasstator.

You too Superman. Let's hope Bungie actually ends up turning things around, but keep expectations realistic! Fallout 4 will keep you busy for a very long time if you like that kind of game and Bloodborne is great!
