Two words buddy: Elite Dangerous
-
It's not even close to the same.
-
1:1 scale milky way, incorporating 400 billion star systems, with populated space allowing you to trade within a living, breathing player fueled economy, pick a faction and further their ambitions, or even start your own? Then theres the exploration (with planetary landings being introduced and later expanded on), the bounty hunting both freelance and targeted, pirating, smuggling, a good hefty choice of upgradeable ships... No its completely different isnt it?
-
Have you even seen no man's sky? "Game has space money and maybe landing on planets later" Doesn't make them the same, not even close. Now you're just saying halo is call of duty because guns and first person.
-
Not maybe: 100%. Its already started on PC. Also, both are space MMOs that involve trading, exploration, piracy and merc work. One is more simulator-ish, one looks more cartoony and (currently) focusses more on planetary exploration. They are most definitely similar.
-
Show me all the alien dinosaurs in elite dangerous.
-
Ok, so one different facet, alongside its greater cartooniness. Similarities: 1. Huge scale 2. Sandbox design 3. Upgradeable ships 4. Economy 5. Trading 6. Piracy 7. Merc work for factions 8. Exploration (like it or not, Elite is closing this gap eventually, thats a fact) 9. Mining for resources 10. Persistent MMO world where player actions have a tangible impact They have a lot more in common than not, despite sitting at opposite ends of the (somewhat) realistic/fantastical spectrum. Saying they are "not even close" to similar is plain wrong.
-
So all they have in common is generic videogame concepts, and the actual important things, for example finding randomly generated alien species, are the differences? Woah, deep stuff. You sure got me.
-
Yes, the same example you've already stated. I mean, surely if the games are so wildly different you'd have more than one thing hmmmm?
-
Absence of information =\= lack of it. You are so dead set in your stupid argument I had no reason or need to waste my time. You've made that especially clear. Are you envious you won't be able to play the game or something? Sorry, I don't have that problem.
-
Edited by Bieltan: 12/18/2015 12:37:17 AMAt this point, either offer a valid argument (i.e not a deflection or repetition of a previous sole example) or shut up. All I was doing was suggesting a valid alternative sandbox space game. Careful with that edge in future mate, you'll have your arm off if you arent careful.
-
Edited by S0ulBearer: 12/18/2015 12:39:10 AMI smashed your argument forever ago, I'm not going to sit here and put actual effort into an argument you clearly won't actually listen to since you started freaking out immediately. You're only here to throw a hissy fit, not have an intelligent discussion about a game you clearly don't know much about.
-
Edited by Bieltan: 12/18/2015 12:44:53 AMYou smashed it? LMAO ok champ, saying "its completely different" whilst offering one solitary example of a difference in the face of multiple similarities isnt really smashing an argument in my book. Sure, they have their differences, but they have a lot in common too. Enough that most (note: not all) who enjoy one will enjoy the other. 2 sides of the same coin.
-
You keep thinking that. You're talking about it as if you've seen a few screenshots and called it a day. I smashed your argument when the only similarities you had were generic videogame concepts.
-
You mean those self same generic videogame concepts that are repeatedly held aloft as proofs of how good the game will be? Yeah, ok matey. Still havent offered up anything other than Alien Dinosaurs, cant help but notice that. I mean, if the twain are so wildly different, you should have an abundance of examples to pick from.
-
Sigh, fools will be fools.
-
Still nothing? K then.
-
Edited by TechyWizard: 12/15/2015 5:35:06 AMSame. I'm hoping to get a PS4 for Christmas.
-
Sounds cool. I plan on building a PC in the future, so I'll get it on that.
-
That's a good plan.
-
Yeah.. Gotta learn more about pcs though
-
Same.
