"Guardian? Wake up Guardian." A Voice uttered. A Voice? How long has it been since I have noticed something outside of the welcoming embrace of... of... Nothingness? Is that what I have been doing all my life, nothing; was I once a part of something that fell out of place and being invited back to my proper being; is there something else if there is something beyond the Nothingness? It must be Nothing, it has to be Nothing, there is only Nothing other than myself. I am... alone in the Nothingness, but if that is so, what is this Voice and where is it coming from for it is not my own. "Eyes up Guardian. We need you now more than ever." Said a Voice, the Voice. The Voice! What is this voice talking about? What are these eyes, what is this Guardian, is it me? More importantly who else is out there, beyond the Nothingness that I have called my home for as long as I remember? This Nothingness is all I know, but not what you know little Voice. Show me what is beyond the Nothingness. Show me what I have not been able to see for myself. Show me why I am here and what I am meant to do... * * * * "That's it Guardian. Easy now." Said the Voice. I opened my eyes once again expecting to see a lone figurine or two also inside of the Nothingness but was instead saw... everything... for the first time. Light was the first thing I saw, and Light was the first thing I liked. It was exhilarating, new and didn't belong to the Nothing, like myself. The Voice was the next thing I saw and liked. It was a small little thing that was white and filled with Light, but not the same as the one all around me. The Light it contained was different for sure, but it seemed, no it was just as important if not more important as the other Light. The last thing I saw upon opening my eyes was a gun, sliced into two pieces and sitting not to far away from me. I do not know why but as soon as I saw it I hated it. It was not like the Light or the Voice and did not look like either, or anything at all. To me, it felt like not a piece of the Nothingness, but a source of it. I do not know why it I could tell that the gun (how did I know what it was and not know at the same time?) was an end to things like myself, the Light and the Voice. Something else about the gun was bothering me. I knew that I knew what it was, why I hated it but not the feeling that I had while I was alone in the Nothingness. It did not feel like sadness, but something about it made me feel sad and remember what it was and what the other things around me were. "Your awake Guardian. Good! That's very good, especially with what happened to you! Can you tell me what you remember before I arrived?" The Voice asked. I said that I only know of the Nothingness and what I see now. I did not speak. I tried to tell the Voice that I knew nothing again, this time yelling with all of my strength. I did not speak, but I did not go unheard. "Oh dear, that's very bad Guardian. It seems that when you were defeated, however that was, you also had your voice box damaged. That isn't the bad part Guardian, what's bad is that you should be back to normal after I revived you back. It seems like the damage the Archon Priest did to you was more severe than I thought to that area of your body. Do you remember what the Priest did to you?" The Voice asked. I nodded my head sideways and tried to say 'no' but still remained silent. "I thought so... let me scan you and... done! I can show you what happened to you, would you like that?" The Voice asked? I gave the white diamond shaped voice a thumbs up gesture and nodded my headed up and down quickly. The idea of being something before being a part of the Nothing was once only a dream that was now going to become a reality. "Okay then, let's watch this together." The Voice said assuringly. As the Voice spoke my vision became a deep blue and I saw what through the eyes of my past self. I tried to scream in horror at I saw but it was no use. It already happened, and there was nothing I could do to stop it, so I watched in horror as I saw my last few moments of my first life and my entrance to the realm of the Nothingness. * * * I would like to know your guys opinion of this story, so if you could tell me what you thought of it in the poll or comments. Thank You.

  • Very philosophical, I like it! It talks about an important topic, where DO Guardians go when they die the first and potentially second and final time (or is it final?) I would add the #Gallery #Stories to the list of hashtag so more people could find this, keep up the good work!
