Probably dead. Being alive would require some sort of story or narrative, which is STILL lacking.

The story is in the grimoire. If you want it you kind of have to find it.

I know, but that's just lazy. It should expresses in the game.

Arguably, the separation works well, since it allows lore-fiends to browse, learn, and theorize, while it lets the people who want "hurrdurr shot aeilien" to just play the game with minimal "interference"

Bungie's system is separation. The game has gameplay, the grimoire has lore. By playing the game, you unlock the grimoire, which gives you the lore. You can't just say there's no story because you haven't bothered to read all the grimoire

I've read most of it. The book of sorrow is brilliant. It's a shame some of isn't told in the game. Through a stone tablet or something similar. The grimoire is not a story, not in the traditional sense. It's a collection of little stories that form the basis of the world. Like a bible I guess

Damn man. Good Analogy. Never heard it said quite like that, but when you're right you're right.
