Now they are clipping the range by at least 50% and the pulses from highest impact to lowest are getting nerfed by 9% 8% and 2% respectively and they will be worse than the trash from year one...and the fabian strategy getting less damage as it gets more rate of fire is retarded.

Edited by zxionisus: 11/20/2015 6:56:08 PMIt just occurred to me why Bungie can't get the weapon adjustments right - common core math! They are applying the same estimating principles and methods of trial-and-error guesswork to the adjustments. What we have here is a bunch of children working in the Bungie basements (most likely with decoder rings) who have no idea what the flying f they are doing. Bungie does weapon adjustments like my 16 year old son does bike maintenance. Have you ever tried to balance a spoked rim with a rim wrench? It's the same principle. If you tighten one spoke, it loosens other spokes. Instead of balancing the rim, it ends up looking like it got run over by an 18-wheeler. Bungie nerfs one gun and buffs another. They could simply have increased base damage and range a smidge for autos, but they had to touch pulses too. And Hawkmoon...really?!
-
Pulses didn't suck in year one. I mained the coiled hiss and wrecked everyone with it, even thorn users.
-
Hand cannons may have been the last meta, but pulses were never bad. In my opinion, they should have left them alone
-
Edited by AVERNL: 11/20/2015 8:51:03 PMPulse rifles were NEVER trash! Hand Cannons just had huge range/accuracy/stability and few downsides so everyone used them. Pulse rifles still have an advantage over HC and Autos at medium/long range and can probably also compete with Scouts at medium range.
-
My sole primary over 300 - 305 NTtE - has been turned almost useless - nothing else I have does enough damage to worry competitors. I feel that the damage reduction could have been a little less. There shouldn't be such a dramatic change .

This is how it goes. >Weapon is mainly used in crucible >Community: NERFNERFNERFNERFNERF >Bungie: Ok we will nerf it and buffing other things that actually needed the power >Community: THIS IS NOT OK BUNGIE! Now X is too OP. NERFNERFNERFNERF >Bungie: Nerfs one thing buffing the other thus coming full circle >Community continues to complain

Edited by Ochaco7476: 11/21/2015 9:48:59 AMDusted off my year 1 MIDA in readiness last night, had a quick game of control, takes a steadier hand than pulses, but oh my, when pulses get a range nerf... ...it's gonna be all about scouts again on open maps. Suros and zhalo for more closed in maps. Oh well, a change is as good as a rest, as they say....
-
The new meta is gonna be bullet Suros regime and 1k yard stare. Yeah that's gonna be loads of fun /s
-
I saw a player having fun using his pulse rifle. Glad Bungie stopped that!
-
Rotating. Weapon. Meta. That is all.
-
Yup. All the good pulses lost 8%. So they're practically back to square 1. Autos gain 8% and their half decent. So do the math autos are the new dominant weapon now.
-
Why don't they just buff all guns?!?
-
Did you even understand the chart? The burst to kill is barely affected. The numbers bungie releases never make any sense by the time it comes out. Remember when autos were nerfed by 2%?
-
So it wasn't just me who saw that massive cock up then?
-
But they have nerfed every other weapon too. Pulses will be fine
-
The constant changes are really really annoying. It's what has pushed me away from this game the most.
-
Calling it right now. Scouts are taking the throne. It's time. -the guy with no house.

Edited by Walrus Walter: 11/20/2015 2:29:49 PMhttps://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/174685206/0/0 you people really need to stop and think before you jump to conclusions. If they nerfed it by 5% the damage would still be the same estimation wise

This happens every update... The best weapons becomes the worse. I will tell you what somebody told me.
Stop crying and get good with other weapons.
Edited by Snyder : 11/20/2015 2:07:37 PMWhy couldn't they do a decent buff on Auto Rifles without touching Pulse Rifles? Seems better then buffing one and nerfing the other now that it's going to be all Auto Rifle users now.
-
Believe it or not, back when the game first launched, before that initial buff, pulse rifles could hold their own against auto rifles and even the mythoclast, so long as the wielder had some skill. So what if your opponent actually has a chance if they're using something else now, maybe that'll push people to actually get better at not sucking ass because they have no crutch. Also, did you even look at the burst-to-kill chart? There's almost no difference before and after the update. At most you'll need an extra 2 or 3 bullets. Pulse rifles will still be competitive, but get this: there will be viable options to counter them now, other than another pulse rifle. Maybe skill will finally be the most important factor in crucible. But of course, that's probably what you're afraid of, right?
-
Weren't pulse rifles the first nerf of year one?
-
Anyone else get the feeling they're going to outright break the balance this time? They've never been this quick and ambitious about weapon balance, feels rushed in order to retain players.
-
And Bad Juju is shit again. I was already good with it before the nerfs.
-
It's just come full circle. My prediction is simply this Suros Regime will become the new meta. This is EXACTLY what started year 1 as the meta. The slow fire, stable and reliable auto. It was the choice because it made sense. Every other PvP game i.e. COD and Battlefield had established the auto as the weapon of choice for PvP players due to it's TTK, range and stability. 90% of PvP encounters are at medium range. You see so you shoot. You rarely see, run at them head on and then shoot. This is usually the point at which you are dead!
