Why is Reddit held up as some paragon of purity and intelligence? Genuine question as I am not a member of Reddit and seldom go to it. However, it irritates me how Reddit seems to be the Apple product of forums where everyone enjoys the smell of their own farts until San Francisco blows up. The MAIN thing that irritates me is I feel like, when you sift through the moron posts on here, there actually are legit complaints. Whereas I feel on Reddit the so called "learned" act like Destiny is fine as is. Again, I don't prowl Reddit much so I could be ignorant to how things actually are. But in general, what is it about Reddit that is so holy?

 • The same ideas and topics can be found on Reddit, but it lessens the frequency of people claiming that "90% of the destiny community" is anything. The problem with the destiny forums are that its full of the entitled with no one to regulate or police them. Unfiltered garbage

 • Agreed on the Bungie forum aspect.

 • Because Bungie can actually talk to the Reddit community without getting death threats

 • Yeah, understood, the forums here are terrible. I have never been a member of a more wide open (in a bad way) and seemingly un-policed forum. That said though, I guess I just feel like Reddit seems to be full of people that accept Destiny as is. Which is why I figured Bungie talked to them more, because they would get their back scratched over there. For instance, when Y1 weapons got forced out, I totally disagreed with that as TTK/Y2 is NOT the equivalent of Destiny 2. Once a true Destiny 2 hits I am good to leave my Destiny 1 gear as it would happen in any game. However, I got irritated with a large segment of Reddit that wanted to act like this was "good for me". Most of those seem to relate Destiny to an MMO anyway which already points out the flaw in their logic as Destiny is as far from an MMO as I am from being a real life Guardian. Anyway, not necessarily trying to "hate" on Reddit, I just never understood what was so great about it. Policing makes sense.

 • There were so many posts like that here as well, and everyone quoting the Devs line of "using fatebringer for 10 years sounds boring", people were spouting it off as if it was their own though process, and it wasn't. Sure, never trying new weapons could be boring, but it should be up to the player to decide how they want to proceed... You know what else is boring? Farming Mats, grinding for the sake of grinding, and not making progress... I love the shooting in this game, and I enjoy raiding, but the burnout has started to set with me. Not saying I'm quitting or anything like that - just frustrated by lack of content like so many others. I try to make myself enjoy crucible, but I don't find it very fun - sometimes it is, other times it pisses me off...

 •
That said though, I guess I just feel like Reddit seems to be full of people that accept Destiny as is.
This. This is a huge problem among nearly all of the "forum community". The console players that destiny invited into an ever-growing game is that they assume that once the game is bought, that is it. Destiny is and will always be changing, until Destiny 2.

 • I'm not a PC gamer, that said though, I started Destiny specifically to experience an ever growing game. However, it makes no rational sense to me to actually shrink your game per DLC and reinvent the wheel at each DLC. Even though I don't PC game, I work in video games and have for close to a decade at a very recognizable company, plus I've personally been an avid gamer for about 28 of my 35 years on Earth. So even though I don't PC game, I know what a real MMO is and what to expect and this isn't it. So it just seems like everything turned into a mess with people thinking this is an MMO when it's not, then accepting ridiculous design and implementation decisions and then chalking it up to this being an MMO......which it's not. Anyway, on the point of the forum and what Reddit is, from that angle I agree. Reddit sounds much more organized and less douchey which is good lol.

 • It's not holly it's curated and policed. The result is "more discussion, less entitlement" than Bungie.net.
