Is e sports considered a sport? Like league of legends. I say yes.
Discuss.

tbh it's as much of a sport as chess or darts.
-
Lmao@ all these obese nerds trying to say they are athletes. Go take a look in the mirror and see how ridiculous your claims are.
-
It actually is considered a sport, the gamers however are not called Athletes
-
Wow didn't think I wonder of see some much hate for the growing esports arena on a gaming website. No I don't believe it should be called a sport but at the same time it is a competition of the mind like how they have professional chess competions.
-
I consider it the same as golf or nascar, if you believe it a sport then that is ok but I never will.
-
No, I'm sorry to you that believe it but playing videogames while technically is a sport, I don't really consider it one.
-
They might be competitive and require lots of skill/practice but if there's no physical exercise it isn't a sport
-
It's just fun competition. There's no athletic aspect to it at all. I'd say it's closer to Brain Games.

Edited by domodug321: 11/13/2015 2:45:35 PMIs poker a sport? If so, then video games are a sport as well
-
They're esports because they are not sports. They will never be sports, which is the whole reason for esports being a term. sport spôrt/ noun 1. an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment.
-
I would acknowledge it as a form of competition, but more like pool of poker, not a "sport" per se.
-
Its not a sport.
-
Sitting on your ass and staring at a TV is not a sport.
-
No. A sport requires physical activity. Go outside
-
No. To practice for a REAL sport. It takes exercise and endurance to be the best. Only certain people make the cut, because it takes real skill. Not sitting in a chair all day getting fat. That is not a sport. Anyone can quit their job and play a video game all day. You would get good sooner or later not to mention, LoL is not going to get you any girls
-
I think esports and regular sports have things in common like having to practice to get good at them but I don't think esports should be lumped in with stuff like baseball and soccer.
-
I look at it as a competition because there is no physical activity required to play video games, therefore e sports is DEFINITELY not a sport
-
Edited by MasterYoda874: 11/12/2015 10:34:23 PMIt is very subjective. Based on the definition then yes, almost anything can be a sport. You also can be an athlete if are proficient in said sport. So to me, yes it is a sport by definition. Video games are more of a pastime than a sport though IMO.

Edited by Ardaigh167: 11/12/2015 10:09:14 PMI'm sorry for all those who think their cool for sitting on their butts burning no calories and exerting no effort what so ever, but it's not a sport, competition maybe, but not a sport.
-
I wouldn't consider it a sport, but it is certainly a competition
-
Edited by The Elike: 11/11/2015 2:19:53 AMI wouldn't call it a sport per se. Definitely an intense and engaging competition but sport by definition is physical. But then again golf is a sport and they don't even walk to their ball. Also I think Poker is now considered a sport and I'm pretty sure the LoL championships were on ESPN. So -blam!- it, ya they're sports.

Edited by Zargon: 11/12/2015 4:25:47 PMOP needs a dictionary.

Beer pong is more of a sport than videogames
