Destiny:
-No clear or coherent story. TTK did better, but built off an almost nonexistent story from vanilla. Almost everything you need to know is in the Grimoire - which isn't even in the game.
-Small "open-world" experience. 2 small social zones, 5 maps that aren't that large or have many secrets, all of it re-used constantly for grinding.
-Straightforward leveling with no real branching. Apart from jumps, some nades, and Supers all classes feel the same.
-Without repeating content, only about 20-30 hours of gameplay to complete everything once. Lengthy gameplay hours comes from grinding same content repeatedly.
Fallout 4:
-Storytelling with dialogue and choices in the game itself.
-Large world with 100+ caves, towns, buildings, etc. to explore and loot.
-Excellent leveling system with 70ish unique perks you can choose from, each with multiple levels (adding up to about 280 total).
-Main story likely 20-30 hours, side content (missions, activities, collectibles, settlent building, mod support) adding up to 100+ extra depending on person.
Destiny is a good game. But repeated content being run over and over grinds on you after a while. I'm personally done until we see the next DLC with its price and amount of content. Until then, I'll be enjoying my time in the Commonwealth.
And nothing will "kill" Destiny. People will keep playing it for quite some time, which is their choice. Others will grab a new game and move on for a while, coming back at the next DLC as well.

What pisses me off most about destiny's story is that a very large chunk of it is hidden with the grimiore. Like seriously, -blam!- that.
-
You forgot multiplayer and coop play for destiny .
-
If Bethesda has proven anything with their last games the main story will be closer to 5 hours....
-
Ehhhh that is just completely wrong. Even if you ised console commands there is no way you could possibky dinish the entire story in 5 hours. Its obvious youve never played a bethesda game
-
Skyrim and fallout 3s main story took like 5 hours tops
-
I mean if you just run through maybe but why? The lint is to understand the story not skim through it
-
They're just not as long as morrowind was
-
That was a great game too. But honestly if you went and did everything there was to do along the way there is no way you would be done in 5 hours. Hell each dlc had about that much exceot the one where you can build your own house. Forget the name if it but yeah there is lots of content to do. Destiny doesn't really have side quest. Its all pretty much one path to the end. Destiny is great dont get me wrong bit compared to storyline and gameplay imo fallout takes the win. I meam what other game could you sneak up on someone while they were sleeping and slit thier throat? Or be a cannibal?

Hearthfire

Oh yea thats it. I spent so much time building my log mansion
-
Na. Good one tbough

Skyrim was a fair bit longer than 5 hours, unless you rushed through it. For me, took me several days, I kept wandering off the path lol. The side factions were the short ones though definitely - Companions only had like 6 quests.
-
You're right, Destiny needs larger "open-worlds."
