• This depends on who you ask. In my opinion ozymandias is still the villian. There could have been other ways. But that's more of a philosophical question than anything.

  • Hmm, good question. I will have to do some research and theory thinking to come up with an answer. Atm I think it would be Dr Manhattan, but again there is research to be done.

  • It's really a tough question: Rorschach- He is extremely brutal, illegally works as a vigilante, and regularly murders or tortures people he suspects to be criminal. He ruined ozymandias's plan for world peace based on his principles alone. However he also does a lot of good by stopping: -blam!-s, murders, and other criminal activity.- ruined world peace. Ozymandias- He murdered millions, but sought to save billions by averting a nuclear holocaust. His efforts were all ruined with the surfacing of Rorschach's journal. - mass murderer Dr. Manhattan- a God like entity that could most likely stop the war from ever starting if he wanted to. For most of the movie/ book he is uninterested in the affairs of humans, so he refuses to help them. Essentially he is an all powerful entity that won't save the day, unless he can find some stake in it.- disinterested in the world to the point that he would let it be destroyed The comedian- a vile disgusting human with a long history of deplorable acts. His only redeeming moment in the entire movie/ book is whenever he leaks ozymandias's plan to Moloch. - Almost everything he's ever done None of these characters are inherently evil (except maybe the comedian) , however I feel like one of them must be the true villain of the story.

  • I would rule out the Comedian since his actions has no reflections on the outcome of the story, and Rorschach since he was able to reveal the beautiful lie written in his journal. That leaves us with Dr Manhattan and Ozymandias. If you were able to read his story in Before Watchmen, he was also behind the act of killing millions during his quest to make Jon become Dr Manhattan. I won't spoil much more, but if you were to read the comic you would see why I see him as the "villain" in Watchmen.

  • Dr Manhattan was created in the 1940s, how could ozymandias who is only around 35 in the early 1980s have had anything to do with Jon's accident? (I have only got to read Rorschach's and the comedian's before watchmen stories.)

Like I said, I rather not spoil it for you (Or anyone that is reading our conversation). All I can say is that its complicated, but once you read it you will understand why. Or a little google search can tell ya if you seriously wanna know lol. Besides it's one of the best (If not THE best) stories in the Before Watchmen entries.

  • Very well then, readers you have been warned, because I'm about to tell MysticInsanity.
In Dr Manhattan's story, his toke place after the events of Watchmen. He wanted to see what his purpose was with in his existence, so he went way back in time to see, but for some reason, the room that was suppose to lock him in didn't when he went to get his fiancee's watch. What was also wierd is the watch's spanner was stuck at 15 seconds. Turns out Manhattan had to do a lot of changing with his original timeline for Dr Manhattan to exsists (Reason why was without him, no matter what he did when he was Jon, the results ended up the same... Amd it's not pretty) Think of it like what Church had to do in Red Vs Blue when he was sent to the past, and you'll get a fairly accurate picture of his first story in a nutshell. Fast forward into a decade or so, he had one more loophole into the timeline, and he required Ozymandia's help. Manhattan told Adrian the future and Adrian agreed to help. With the technology he had, Ozymandia preped for the plot to make Dr Manhattan the blame in order to make world peace. Manhattan doesn't care about the human's, but he does care about the world. Remember when he said that he could change almost anything but not human nature? That was why he was fine with the whole kill millions to save billions Adrian talked about. Then we know he killed Rorsharch so he wouldn't revealed the truth, and after his past self left Earth, his current self wrapped things up with Ozymandia and let him gain control of Earth. The comic ended with him being in a forest (Possibly another planet) forming life out of the soil he had in his hands and placed it in the river. TL;DR Dr Manhattan was also behind of framing himself so the world would have peace, and by doing so he had to do a lot of time bending to ensure Earth didn't get destroyed, for better or worse. Could he have changed the outcome without killing innocent people? Maybe, but he instead toke the easy route and created a time paradox of the Watchmen universe we know and love.
