anyone at bungie care to explain why a 170 ice breaker is able to 1 shot head shot as well as 1 hit revive.
there is a couple others and its quite frustrating to deal with.
Edit: so it has come to my attention that older weapons are re-appearing into new content because the averaging system allows this to happen with higher light levels, while i did not know this was possible i would like to point out being an ass about it does not help the problem........
but thank you to the ones who gave some information without attitude.
Edit2: newer question does everyone agree that this is ok or that this is totally wrong i would like to hear other peoples opinions on the subject. just a note if this continues thorn may be open for use as well.

It's all BS. My Titan is at 316 and came face to face with a 296 Titan. I used my Sunstrike melee on him, and he countered with a Stormfist.... I was killed by the 296 Stormfist, while the 316 Sunstrike left the 296 Striker with %25 health. Level advantages my ass, normalize is a BS excuse.

Honestly I think that trials should be truly equal. Same armor, same weapons, same light level. That way you're being rewarded for actual skill.
-
Ice breaker is the best exotic ever
-
Dude me and my friends were farming for Passage Coins and just to mess around i pulled out my praedyths revenged and i was still able to one shot someone.
-
Just for fun I dropped my light down to 261 using thorn just to piss people off and atheon mask. At 261 I couldn't 1 hit shoulder charge people, funny people after I hit them there were stunned that they didn't die and I would just punch them and clean it up lol

Question to those talking about the ammo regeneration glitch... This system requires the player to switch Ice Breaker at full ammo with another special. In PvP don't you end up with 0 ammo when switching guns? I don't claim to be a PvP expert as I'm primarily a PvE player, but I'm fairly certain switching a weapon in PvP is a guaranteed way to end up with 0 ammo. Am I wrong?
-
Lol for real? I love the ice breaker
-
No good shotgun. Uses found verdict.
-
I played with the Crota Mask
-
Me and a few friends droped our light to 170-190 and went 3-0 without any boons, it's was fun

Edited by Kami: 11/3/2015 4:29:05 PMI tried running Messenger, however my light is too low to even make it the beast it should be. 291 light is not good enough. So it's fine, let people use what they want. YOU will be able to do more damage to them. So you get the advantage.
-
Found out last night I can be 298 with NLB on my hunter(: maybe I can once again go flawless with it!!
-
Might have to break out the messenger next weekend lol
-
I Can get to almost 300 with bones of yao lol
-
basically, the reason you see people using this gun called "Ice Breaker" is because the glitch still works if you get all 6 bulllets when you're going to the next round if you swap to your special weapon it gives you max ammo :D

Edited by gottrw: 11/3/2015 2:25:31 PMThose saying your total light level is what matters are wrong I wanted to test this out when playing trials so i equipped my ldr 5001 I was 295 light playing against a 299 299 and 302 so there shouldn't have been to much fall off against 295 attack. A shot to the head did 234 damage against the 302. But wait in the same impact class still piercer and 1000 yard stare does 417 to the head
so did ldr in how and still does in normal crucible
In the same game I used thorn it did 43 and 2 ticks of damage but in normal crucible it does 3 ticks of damage conclusion the damage of your gun affects how much damage you do
Fun clip http://xboxclips.com/gottbreach/fc3aa5b6-cec5-475d-a8ae-e703f3fbbe42
You summoned me.
-
I took a thorn and NLB in just to mess around this week... We slaughtered them..
-
I tried to use mythoclast. Didn't work at all
-
In response to your first edit, they are justified since you didn't do any research b4 complaining. Just a heads up, you'd get the same response with a complaint in real life. Sorry dude
-
Damage output is relative to your character level, not gear level
-
Rrally, maybe I should use my evergreen :)
-
You get about a 25% damage reduction using a 170 light sniper vs a 310ish light sniper with the same impact in trials/IB (for my case it was LDR vs 1000 yard stare - same impact as ice breaker). You can still one shot to the head, but you CANNOT one shot off a res or one shot a super/over shielded enemy. Not worth it IMO to use it at all. You probably see ice breakers just because of the ammo glitch.
-
Once you dip below 290 there is a slight difference in damage dealt and taken, not as major as it should be since we should all be able to get to 290 pretty easily.
-
There is definite level advantages. I tried to help a level 294 through trials and saw him consistently get 2 bursted by pulse and 1 shot by a strong sniper. I also watched a very skilled 290ish mop the floor with 307s.

I dink it's weally gwoss
