So my only change to your arguement.
I agree that Oryx is gone. We killed him in his Dreadnaught.
However. In Regicide, we don't kill him. We get close and he "Takes" himself.
If we would have killed him in Regicide, he would have been dead for good.

His whole Dreadnaught is his throne world. Dying anywhere on it would make his death permanent.
That is why we have no special portals to go through in Kings Fall to get to Oryx. And it looks like the rest of the Dreadnaught.
It's why the Ruptures just take you to other parts of the ship.
