Female Gamers - Tired of being treated badly?
Are you a female gamer who gets pestered, bothered, harassed, threatened, insulted or all of the above?
There are lots of great guy gamers out there to play with but we all know there are some real jerks out there as well.
Reply/bump/like if you're a female gamer or a guy gamer who is cool with female gamers.
Female gamers are here, and here to stay. :) <3

These were my first experiences with video-games and consoles. Back in the day, gaming wasn't exactly mainstream as it is today. And especially girls weren't really interested to play them, for the most part. I have no idea if it was the iPhone, Twitter, boredom, or whatever changed that, but girls/women playing video-games has started to become a thing. Back then, when I was young, every boy I knew stated that one of the coolest things a girl/GF can do, would be to play video-games (no we didn't count the Sims as being a video-game). Nowadays a lot of things have changed and there are quite a few gamer girls/women out there. The Hobby is still dominated by males, no questions asked, but overall there has been a slight shift. My GF nowadays doesn't mind playing a bit of Destiny, for example. She was a very big fan of The Last of Us as well. So what I do not understand, is why certain guys have the need to specifically insult girls, or harass them. It was the "dream of a whole generation" to have girls being more interested in video games (obviously this has economic reasons as well. Since the female population makes out roughly 50% of the planet's population, corporations are missing out on a lot of profits). And now, when it finally started to happen, some insecure 11 year olds, have to tarnish these efforts from girls, guys and the industry alike. They must be so insecure and sad to harass female gamers especially, that there very probably is no rational explanation to their behaviour. There is no excuse for it, and these guys don't deserve any sympathy. However, expecting special treatment simply because you are a girl, doesn't work either. As you said in your OP, girls are here now and they will be here to stay. Which is a good thing. The more the merrier!

half the female gamers i used to see on COD on the ps3 would just sit in a party and chat to five other guys trying to get nudes. lol wtf half the time they dont play the games.

You make sound like if you girl gamer you have no friends. Play with you friends if they treating bad then they not your friends. Destiny does allow us to talk strangers so must talking about people on your friends list so this personal problem that only you can fix

Personally speaking, I happen to be a Male Gamer, but when it comes to gaming with others (yes, even Female gamers.) I make sure there is a true sense of Equality to make sure that everybody has fun, whether it comes to focusing on the game or just stuffing around for a few laughs. Either way, it is very hard to come by good female gamers these days, Especially on Xbox one...

Me and my friends have been searching for a girl to break up the current sausage fest. It would be nice to have a girl friend that actually played games and was cool instead of our girlfriends taking over the mic whenever they come over and destroying our k/d and just generally f***ing s**t up. But, we haven't, I think female gamers are awesome but like male gamers, there are some female jerks and some of them suck.

I have females in my clan, and everyone in my clan knows that I do not tolerate disrespect towards females. We all know where that fine line is between joking, and being scummy, so if you want some maturity, hollar, PS4.

I'm more then happy to have anyone on the fire team. I love playing strikes with random people, you have to change your tactics. Keep playing and having fun, don't let people treat you bad. And if they do and I'm in the game I'd boot there ass to orbit for you. :)

What's wrong with female gamers? I wouldn't mind doing a raid or something with a girl as long as they new what they were doing. I have done POE and Crota many times with girls and often they preform better than many GUY friends I have. PS. I am a guy. This is not a girl trying to make a point or something...

Girl gamers on destiny are few and far between it seems we've only got one female member in our clan of over 200+ active and inactive members. She gets harassed all the time but she harasses us back for our clan she's not any different than any of us we all get shit from other members when we suck and we all get praised when we pull our team through the tough spots

Honestly not once (in my own experience) have I seen a situation in which a female gamer is treated differently while playing destiny. To me I don't care if you're a girl or a guy or other it does not bother me its all the same when playing a game.

Whenever I game with girl gamers I don't treat them any different than I would in person and I find it very low when people abuse others regardless of gender
