Before I finish reading, why does he need to 'recruit' flawless guardians in Trials? Shouldn't he recruit the guardians who beat raids? Why the need for guardians who beat other guardians if he is friendly? I'd rather have the competent guardians who can use teamwork to beat the real enemies.

Because there are only a few people in the lore who beat the raid, but that means that your successful raid is real lore wise and it was successful. I don't see how you can do anything with 18 followers.
-
That's lore. How many guardians have completed trials in lore? I'm just sayin I'd rather have an army who knows how to fight the darkness together, than guardians who slide around with a shotgun
-
That's game wise. The way we act in the game isn't how we act in the lore.
-
But if he is recruiting using trials, that's what he'd see right?
-
Because guardians are stronger than the raid bosses. If you follow the sword logic in the grimiore of Oryx this makes more since.
-
But you are killing troops. Flat out no bs no puzzles no gods that are immune until you kill the thing that happens to hold their weakness then proceed to kill them with it
-
I thought one of the cards insinuates that the crucible is a simulation of some kind.

Very true, it does indeed. But my point still stands. It's killing troops at the end of the day. That's what Osiris wants
