• What if the plot of Destiny happens in the future and everyone that plays Destiny are the ones chosen to be Guardians?

  • It has kinda been obvious since day one man. The guardians are good for one thing and one thing only. That thing is killing everyone and everything in sight. Think about it for a second we kill each other for fun in crucible, we kill 4 different alien races for no other reason than we were told they were "bad", and we kill the enemy's gods without a second thought.

Traveler: "God keeps evil men in his care as tools of his vengeance". A bible quote, but still holds true.

      •
"There's this cool little things our brain does. It creates order in chaos. random noises can sound like words, even more so when you are told that's what they sound like. Bullshit shows like Ghost Hunters feed on this anomaly to convince people that there's actually a ghost talking to them, not just nonsense (ever wonder why centuries old ghosts in germany speak modern day english?) The Dreg did not say "the Darkness" but let's just assume they did. If they did, which again they didnt, evil is perspective. The -blam!-'s are the evil force because they were the ones we fought against, to them (the -blam!-), we were the evil force stopping them from doing whatever the hell their "this is why we're good guys" thing was. The Darkness is shown in the Book of Sorrow as a force from Fundament called the Deep by Hive such as Oryx and his sisters, so no we really can't be the Darkness seeing as how they are trying to destroy the Traveler. Yes i firmly believe the Traveler came to us knowing it was chased, knowign it needed an army, but that doesnt mean we're evil. We're fighting forces that would kill us, therefore we're good. The Traveler did bring them to us, but not for the intention of killing us, but for the intention of protecting itself. "proxy army" is one that you mention. This is her stance, this is why she does what she does. No offense, but it's like you read 4 cards and a reddit post at this point. So for the Black Garden yes they are worshipping, but no they aren't peaceful. As i said it's like you read 4 cards, again in the Books of Sorrow we see that Quria was the Vex mind in control that decided to worship. They stole a Worm, the connection to the Deep, and decided that the Hive God power was what they wanted to obtain. Stealing the Worm, and replicating the Darkness into the Proto-Darkness which is what we fight there, the Black Heart. The Deep Stone Crypt isnt a Guardian (5 grimoire cards, im sorry) it's in the perspective of an Exo. These were originally machines, entirely made to fight, war machines. But along the time-line, heavily suggested in Cayde-6's Journal, Exos were seeded with HUMAN consciousness. Fate of Skolas is just going back to the we're evil to them, but i'd like to call you out again on not actually doing your research because it's apparent and as someone who takes this seriously seeing this is like a slap in the face. The Great Machine is mentioned in more than just those areas. Whirlwind wsa the Darkness, and thanks to other Lore pieces it shows it was actually Oryx's brood that caused it. The Eliksni aren't against it! my god how how how -blam!-ing how. This is personal now. THEY WANT THE TRAVELER BACK! PLAY THE GAME AND IT LITERALLY SAYS THIS! and now you are believing an unknown reddit user. so yea. 5 cards and two reddit posts. I know i come off as a dick, but i feel like i should because this is offensive. I take this seriously, you've likely heard my name because people have actually contacted me asking if YOU contacted me before/after this video. Otherwise i wouldnt have even watched this thing or written this response. Your name carries weight, and that means it's your responsibilty to do your research before posting somehting like this. There are no doubt countless who will just subscribe to this theory because it's you telling them! and to be SO wrong on it too! Honestly i checked the date. I thought this must have been a year old and it's a mistake, there's so much that disproves everything youve said." —AnonPig, 2k15
In other words, this video is so very wrong

• Isn't it common knowledge that Destiny's story was put on the chopping block and that's why the lead writer left? We all know that this wasn't the game from the trailers from 2 years ago.

        • We literally knew all of this already. Also, the Books of Sorrow render his entire vid quite void. The Darkness is VERY much so evil, as are the Vex. I even posted about it on his video.

          • I believe most of us have always had this in the back of our minds. I have never trusted the speaker and have grown to separate myself for his rhetoric. I mean this video does not even have the information from the Taken king which further adds to the theory that the traveler is evil and that we as guardians are not of light but the darkness.

          • The Traveler is dead so we can't look into the Lights true intentions. So let's look at the Darkness, it's opposite, instead. The worm gods of the Fundament, the most powerful beings that that we know of that work with Darkness, basically brainwashed the Hive into believing that the law of this universe is to kill. Kill absolutely anything and everything that can't defend itself and survive. Including each other. This is the way of Oryx and the Hive, and so it'd be safe to assume this is the way of the Darkness as well. Now you can go on and on about the true law of life in the universe but most would agree that genocides of entire species, simply because it's what you think must be done, is bad. We think having peaceful civilizations with a curious people always inventing new things to help others and raise the standard of living would be a good thing. And that's exactly what the Traveler helps do. Now let's look at our enemies and why they're in our solar system. The Fallen. The Traveler used to be their God as it is, or was since the Traveler is basically dead, with us. Something happen to the golden age Fallen, presumably the same Collapse that happened to us, and the Traveler abandoned them. Their collapse obviously did a number on them but they survived and even followed their God over who knows how long or far to our system. The fallen aren't fighting against the traveler they're trying to get rid of humanity so they can have the traveler to themselves. The Hive. These guys are undoubtably the most Darkness powered race. They're the ones that believe the killing everything is the answer. Anyways they're here because Oryx, as per the usual, was brainwashed by the agents of darkness, the worms, into believing that the Traveler aligned the 50(?) moons of his gas giant home planet, the Fundament, into creating a massive wave that would wipe out his race. So because of this Oryx had a deep seeded personal vendetta against the traveler. Which is ironic since he slaughtered half his own race anyways. So this is how the hive are in the picture. Oryx chased the traveler through the Galaxy, stopping every now and again to commit mass genocide and make species basically disappear from history. The Vex. The Vex were actually brought into our realm of existence by Crota pulling them out of some alternate dimension. The very first living thing the Vex had to study was the hive. Because of this the Vex decided that their law of the land would be loosely based on Hive philosophy. They survive by any means necessary by being victorious in every possible scenario. They also picked up the idea of worship from the hive as well. Eg the black gardens heart. I'm pretty sure they haven't yet explained exactly why the vex are in our system but it seems to be they arrived in during the collapse "During the Collapse the Vex transformed the planet Mercury into a machine in days. They would have spread to every planet if the traveler haven't stopped them" The Cabal. Despite being the most similar to humanity we seem to know basically nothing about the Cabal. What they're doing. Why they're here. What they want. I'm speculating here but I'll bet the next DLC will be about the Cabal because of the message we intercepted addressed to the head of the Cabal empire. Anyways idk where I was going with this I was high when I wrote all that. If you ask me I don't think the traveler is necessarily evil but it does use species to defend itself. The traveler visits a post industrial species and carries it into a golden age. It's nice and all but what it's really hoping for is for that species that can defend itself which is why I think the traveler chose to make its last stand with humanity. With war mongering humanity with our super advanced AI war minds with their vast array of Warsats and doomsday weapons. If this is the case it'd make sense why Rasputin is still in the picture and where it's going.

            • I usually respect MatPat; he's usually pretty thorough and interesting, but he just sacked all that and went for the easy option with this one. The problem is now uninformed half-wits will now assume they know the "secret plot" for Destiny, even if they've barely played the game.

            • Well, if anybody could read the Grimoire you would know the Traveler lives in a morally gray area. The Traveler is the one that eventually leads to the great wave that destroys the Hive homeworld. It did this because the Worms, mediators of the Darkness, were trapped in the core of the planet waiting for the krill to free them. The Traveler hoped to stop this and keep the Darkness from gaining a foothold in our dimension. We see this failed because the Hive became an almost unstoppable force. Then, the Darkness even tells Oryx and the other Hive gods the Traveler is looking to create peaceful coexistence between all alien races. The Darkness itself believes the universe should be judged harshly under the code of survival of the fittest so it sends the Hive to destroy anything in their path. I'm sure if the Hive failed, the Darkness would have its Worms latch onto the victorious race to continue the rampage. This whole Guardians being killing machines could be the Traveler having been pushed too far. After losing all these races it brought up technologically to this superior Hive race hellbent on destroying all weaker life in the universe, the Traveler realized it would need the Guardians to be killers. That the only way to survive is to be the strongest. That it's peaceful way of thinking would mean the end of the universe itself. This would mean the Darkness won, in a way. It pushed the Traveler so far that it essentially became what the Darkness is: a force bent on total annihilation of those they deem an enemy to their cause.
