I don't know which tester was satisfied with the gun's performance, but it really doesn't work in Crucible as it is now.
Last Word has no range, even when maxed out it is lower than most shotguns. The ammo economy is terrible, not even counting the fact that you will use six shots to kill someone on average. The stability, one of Last Word's greatest bonuses, is useless. I loved this gun since I got it week three or four from Xur. I listened to all my buddies down me for getting it, calling it a waste of strange coins and a terrible exotic.
I was dominant in year one because of my excellence with this gun. But, it was too powerful. I believe that this weapon should be designed around close quarters engagements. But close quarters, does not translate to sub par shotgun range. Seriously, a range of 10 on an exotic primary? Even the western duels that you glorified and modeled this weapon by had at least a 20 foot standoff distance. But if you were to keep the range this low, shouldn't the stability be maxed out?
In the patch notes, you were comfortable with auto rifles being maxed in either range or stability. Why not use that model for the weapons in general? Then to really bring the pain and drive the gun fully into the dirt, you didn't increase the magazine size? How is a weapon with poor range, stability, and mag size. allowed to be thrown into a game where the chances to beat a shotgun within seven feet, unlikely at best?
The weapon should to be returned to to it's previous state of usefulness, with a range profile similar to Patch 2.0 Thorn. I love this weapon, and the changes made to it really seem to be a purposeful reduction in effectiveness. You say you have been listening to your players Bungie. Will I get any feedback regarding improvements to the Last Word? Or will my effort to provide reasonable feedback be pointless?

3 RepliesIt's fine where it is. A guy that I went against last night got 32 kills with it, just because it takes actual skill to use it doesn't make it bad.
