First off, I know many buying Halo 5 which looks amazing in my eyes. So that WILL decrease the Destiny base by a decent amount. Secondly, Bungie is ignoring the players and not listening to them. It SHOULD be about the players! We payed to get this game and now they are toying with us.
Also, Destiny WILL get repetitive because all of it will be accumulated. Meaning that nothing new will happen. Sure, more DLCs to take our money but killing aliens gets boring at a point. Also the Map is getting crowded, how are they suppose to fit another planet in that mess? The one thing I see them doing is making an entire new galaxy with a new map. Of course, you can switch back to the old map and the new map.
Don't get me wrong, Destiny is innovative and i think it opened the door for greater games of this genre to be created. Another thing is that you HAVE to spend money on it to play it. Imagine if your a vanilla player? NONE expansions at all. You would get very bored running level 20 Vanguard legacy strikes.
The thing with the COD franchise is they can keep making more, and it is very flexible. While Destiny, cannot just make a second disk completely different than the first. So really, this game was doomed from the start being such a one-sided game with no ability to change things without an uprising.
These are my thoughts! Not facts! You're allowed to disagree but do it in a civilized manner please. We're all guardians.

It's funny, every new game that comes out is said to be the "Destiny Killer." But, Destiny hasn't gone anywhere. Sure players drop off in between expansions, but they always come back. They've been wailing about the demise of Destiny to some new game since it came out. Destiny has a loyal fanbase, not going anywhere.

Its not going to be Halo 5 that will have the biggest impact on Destiny. It will be Fallout 4 since it will effect both Xbox and Playstation. Halo 5 is something us PS4 users are shrugging at. We are waiting till Uncharted 4.

This same type of post was posted a year ago when the game first came out . Doesn't look like destiny is going to die

Destiny will be dead in a year because Destiny 2 will be out. There have been hundreds of "Destiny will die" threads since last October, and we're all still here. It's player base might decline a bit, but it won't die anytime soon.

You mention cod can be flexible but look what's happening. Player base for the series has declined tremendously after ghosts and advanced warfare. You also say shooting aliens gets old after awhile, yet you're buying halo 5. Not to mention cod 82 will be out soon as well and people will still buy that. Destiny is in its infancy compared to those franchises, give it time to grow.
