If I get halo 5, will I be lost? I have not played any of the other halo games before.

lol of course not. Halo 5 is meant to be super pandery, and they shit on the game anyways lol.
-
For you it would be best to watch lore videos, or campaign walkthroughs and to pay close attention.
-
You should be fine
-
You will not until you read all the books and play all the games within order
-
It's stupid 343i's "Halo" games have a required reading list for a story subpar to what Bungie created.
-
That's a good thing, it means they are supporting the book lore and keeping things cannon . Unlike bungie wanting to keep them within similar separate universes. Sure broke canon too with reach. Story they did fine and mechanics just improved copy of halo reach. Only things that should have ruined your halo feel was art and music, which they couldn't have even if they wanted. Only other reasons to hate them is 1.biased because not bungie (unfair) 2.final boss (fair) 3. Continued it (unfair) if you wanted the story to end at 3 simply don't buy

Ain't nobody got time foe dat

You're going to at least want a synopsis of the series. Halo 4 seems to have the most relevance to 5 in comparison to 5. I would recommend playing Halo 2 forward, but you should do some basic reading of the plot. Maybe just watch all the cut scenes from the games. Just learn the basic idea of the plot.

As someone who has played Halo since the very beginning I highly suggest that you play Halo 1-4 first if you want a good firm grasp of what's going on. I'm sure Halo 5 will stand on it's own just fine, but the subtle nuances may be lost on you. Like what exactly Chief has been through. His struggles and challenges. Everything he's sacrificed. It connects on a more emotional and human level when you know the Chief as well as many of us do. Besides the campaigns are awesome and a lot of fun. Books, comics, movies, games, short stories, and audio "blogs" like Hunt the Truth - there's no shortage of material for you to absorb. :)
-
I don't think you will. I'm in the same boat as you, actually! You might want to read up on who master chief is though.
-
I'm not sure if there will be some introduction to what's happening when you start the campaign in Halo 5 but it's probably best to know some backstory. Go read a quick summary of the campaigns from previous Halo games if you can, and definitely watch the Spartan Ops movie on YouTube. The Spartan Ops movie is just all of the cutscenes from Halo 4 Spartan Ops combined into one big 'movie', but it has some good backstory that will definitely be present in Halo 5.
-
Yes, you will be lost.
-
Nah you'll be fine. The master chief: cool guy in green armor, the arbiter: badass elite/Chiefs only friend, Spartan Locke: black guy that works for ONI(cia) sent to track down and bring master chief in.
-
aka douch
-
Master chief and arbiter are friends?
-
I think it says in one of the commercials when he's talking to locke
-
They never say that officially but they went through a lot in halo 3.
-
Yes. Get the mcc first, then halo 5.
I'm serious.
-
Probably yeah.

-
Kinda
-
A bit lost.
