MICRO-TRANSACTIONS- SLOW CANCER - END OF CRITICISM? (Luke Smith is a genius!)

If you think bungie is doing this for your benefit...think again. Naiveté + Denial + Addiction + Ignorance + Low standards + Corporatism Loyalty + lack of intelligence (basic economics concepts and corporate principles) + Lack of skepticism + lack of self inspection/evaluation = $$$ for bungievision Honestly...with the lack of content in year 1 for equivalent of 40$ (us) 70$+ (aus). Do you really think you are going to get better more quality/depth driven content with this Micro Transaction + Free Content bs? I know i'm starting to sound like alex jones but hear me out. If destiny had come out as a monthly paid subscription. The game would have died in the first 2 months. People would have cancelled their subscription when they realized how bungievision had straight up lied to them about this game. The false advertising was through the roof, I guess Aliens Marines gets trashed but when its bungie . . . So they pushed out TDB and HOW as expansions. Major backlash as it was evident that these DLC brought very little content for the asking price BECAUSE we could accurately quantify and compare content with price. This also allowed us to compare destiny dlc with other games such as borderlands and wow dlc. In which destiny fell well short in terms of delivering content. ( Thats why most bungie fanboys live in denial because our criticisms where backed up by objective facts and logical comparisons. All the fanboys could do attack with ad homonyms. ) The bungie devs understood this as every DLC saw massive amounts of player drop off. They knew that this method would not be viable especially when they want to peddle destiny 2 next year. So what they essentially have done is taken all of the pressure to provide meaningful dlc that can be logically and objectively be criticized but instead provide "free" content for next year. Understand that Bungie has basically made it impossible to criticize the most glaring factor for their game...CONTENT/PRICE. This is unbelievably genius. Bungie will look like benevolent, kind, giving and caring developer as they shower us with "free" content while the indoctrinated masses will of course fall for this hook line and sinker. The very nature of "free" content makes criticism of that "free" content practically impossible. It takes any amount of responsibility, accountability and rudimentary levels of quality and throws them into the trash. They basically made this game criticism proof ...incredibly ingenious (look up this word). I can see it now, any complaints about any future content will go like this: Malphisto: logically and rationally criticizes one of the "free" missions that bungie releases. Rabid-Fanboy: SHUT UP ITS FREE CONTENT YOU HAVE NO RIGHT STFU U DIDNT EVEN PAY YOU ENTITLED . . . Malphisto: but hey look at this compared to that. . . ModeratePlayer: Hey man I understand your point but this content is "FREE" before you had to pay . . . Bungie cares now bro, they are not ripping us of anymore. I'd rather have this "free" content (aka repetitive re-skin reused map re used assets missions) than paying 40$ . . . and it goes on. I guess Luke Smith really was telling the truth. Micro-Transactions is the definition of throwing money at the screen for no conceivable worth in terms of actual content. Mind=Blown. Luke Smith tried to warn us, he really did. Little did we know he was the harbinger of truth. Destiny will turn into COD. Trust me the micro transactions will become more egregious and obvious as time goes along. Soon anything worth a damn in destiny will be micro transactions. 1) Soon things like (sexy as f) weapon shaders will be released as micro transactions exclusively 2) Special event shaders, emotes, sparrows will be Micro transactions (Such as halloween mask, I WANT A KERMIT MASK GODDAMIT) 3) Voice emotes (connected with exotic emotes...haha trust me this shit will happen ;) 4) Legendary/Exotic armor, weapon, vehicle variants. (dead orbit shader exotic helm version of base game helmet) lets say you have to own that armor first but then can like roll for legendary or exotic shaders with micro transactions. 5) Weapon attachments (LED lights, torches, flames etc etc) 6) Exotic Player emotion emotes ( sad emote generates a cloud over your head with rain and lightning) 7) I'm having way to much fun thinking of ways that bungie will make you throw money at the screen...0_0 8) Ship hangar so u can show of your ships and walk around them 0_0 9) Luxury tower apartment priced at 5.99$. Will allow you and fire team to access tower hotel room. Can be used for mini social events, Shooting Range, Can play music, Allows some form of player mini gambling game with glimmer...ok Ill stop. But seriously im not even a game dev and iv already made you throw money at the screen havent I? It's so insidious, I know you are thinking that i'm being conspiratorial but Bungievision would not be implementing this if it wasn't going to make them massive amounts of money. This game's soul, identity, creativity and even community features will be hidden behind micro transactions. Welcome to the future of AAA gaming, and you know what? Bungie are going to get away with it! Because it's only cosmetic micro-transactions that don't affect the game. :) Oh and it pays for all that free awesome content that your going to get! Well played Bungie and Activision... Well -blam!-ing played. Suddenly Luke Smith doesn't seem like such an asshat anymore? More like a god damn gaming SNOWDEN. HAHA

 • Yeppers. And what is funny is that if you think about it? Those who are saying that if the game goes "Pay to Win" with this that it will just die out. Bungie would apparently NEVER do something like that. Well, Bungie would apparently NEVER do plenty of things and yet each time they prove us wrong in that regard people are just confused or whatever. And of course, people keep failing to realize that Activision calls the shots here when it comes to the business side of things, including this. Call of Duty is the example of what we can expect to see. People used to say the same thing about that franchise too that it would just die out if it ever went Pay to Win. Well guess what, folks? Its even worse than that, its straight up RNG Pay to Win. Its Pay to Win mixed in with Vegas, baby! Was the prediction true? Did the franchise die out like others who were "ok" with micro-transactions originally expected? Nope. Activision doesn't care, they know for a fact people are going to keep throwing money at it because they have spent years cultivating an addicted audience. Gamers generally have an addicted personality. Corporations are fully aware of this, where do you think RNG Loot comes from? Is this inherently wrong? Eh, that's up for debate. However, what IS wrong is when said companies try to use that against Gamers to take advantage of them. At that point it becomes less about creating an award winning experience and more about just trying to bleed people of their money. I spent $60 on the Witcher 3 and got a FULL game with a satisfying experience that had me actually crying at the end. To top it off, CD Projekt RED released a slew of DLC that included more customization options, weapons/armor and even new quests 100% FREE. "We could sell extra content to gamers 'down the road,' but we don't believe in that. We believe patches, fixes and additional content should be provided to gamers free of charge. Only something REALLY big, and something that will not make you feel ripped off, justifies a price tag..."- Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Witcher 3 Game Director. See the difference in mentality?
