I agree, I think people were going through some crazy lengths to decipher the "code" of the quest. Deciphering hash values seen on screens hoping it led places. Glitching into areas people weren't supposed to get to trying everything they can do to break they game to figure out where the source of the weapon is. I think someone at Bungie just said well let this be a lesson. Don't spend so much time trying to figure out a riddle for a game and just enjoy the game. I mean seriously people you thought a game that was designed to cater to kids from 16-20 are going to have such complex triggers for a quest. The OP himself admitted to spending days combing through grimoire and other lore sources trying to piece together the quest line and the only people who were right were the ones saying hey just relax it will be found when its found. If this quest wasn't locked away behind a time gate it would have been one of the first exotics found and then everyone would instead be complaining that it was too easy to find. No matter how difficult they made the quest someone with a seriously complex brain would have figured it out with in hours. Or a group of 1000+ people on Reddit combining information would have found it. There is only so many ways of limiting the flow of items in a game like this. One is RNG to prevent you from getting too much up front. The other is time locking.
