In the attached video they use the strategy to where they take down only one orb per wave and put in some serious DPS! Is this ideal?! Or do you feel the strategy where they shoot down all 6 is key?!?
I really want to discuss the fastest and most ideal strategies so can beat this raid QUICKLY!

Edited by LegionnXL: 10/6/2015 1:48:55 PMIt was hard to notice the other orbs once you realize how much effective one designated gaze taker was after a few whips of our blind experience one orb was easier to manage and five man dps is great strat as far as hard mode we all would jus have to rotate around which would be interesting
-
One orb also enjoys the advantage of requiring less coordination and being easier to explain: "When we tell you to, jump down here and shoot him in the belly. Then, when we tell you too, get back up and take cover". As such, it's much easier to use for pick up groups.
-
I know them all and I can say 1 orb may be the easiest but 2 gazers and 6 orbs is most likely what we're going to have to do in hard mode. So if you only know 1 orb method I suggest you learn the 6 orb 2 gazer method now or you will not be getting in a raid group.

3 RepliesIf you are having an issue with the Taken Thrall spawning behind you when you're in the pool, have someone equip Dark-Drinker and have them go to town everytime Thrall get too close.
-
4 Replieswe play 3-4 orbs and he is down in 2 runs
-
1 ReplyWe did 1 orb strat. The gazer was running angel of light to get high enough and be able hit his crit spot enough from the front so he doesn't ever move, drop down with weapons of light and max DPS from 5 of us, jump out and kill thrall, rinse and repeat.
-
2 RepliesOne orb strat is the easiest and fastest. Constant DPS and down in a few runs.
-
4 RepliesB-4Ron.

2 RepliesMy usual team can easily do the 6 orbs, but if it's a team I don't normally run with then I let them decide
-
5 RepliesEdited by Harrusan: 10/5/2015 7:02:37 PMI have done the 6 orbs, 3 orbs and the one orb strategy, and I have say that the one orb strategy is the safest and easiest. Edit: I was a Gaze runner for all of them.
-
My group does all orbs possible. As long as our gaze trigger guys do their job and our add controller keeps the cursed thrall off the DPS guys, it's over in no time. Obviously have to reset if one person messes up but he's so easy to deal with, given you have a good coordinated team. With ransoms it's all about leadership. Assign jobs and hope it works
-
1 ReplyWe run one orb since we never tried six orb stray yet and don't have a system for it. I think we will start practicing it next week since it may be a necessity for the hard raid
-
1 ReplyEdited by KeesDeWerper: 10/5/2015 4:28:42 PMThe 3 on the left strat
-
1 Replykilling him in 3 orbs is my fastest
-
1 ReplySpeedrun team did the one orb method and got the taken out in one orb, killed him on second
-
6 RepliesHow do you guys take down the daughters?! LETS MAKE US ALL RAIDING GODS!
-
3 RepliesThe strategy depends on how cooperative the team is 6 orbs = two- three runs 1 orb is usually 5-6
-
1 ReplyWe used the 1 orb method, and it worked really well. Takes a bit longer, but feels like there is less chance for death by cursed thrall.
-
I would like to try the strat where you shoot his back, it sounds interesting.
For clarification, the damage dealers and one gaze grabber shoots his back.
-
My team runs the six orb strat, and we are all convinced that we can do it in one run if all 4 used black spindle but 2 of my teammates don't have one so...
-
Imo of you have a solid team that can do the 6 orb method than good, if you have w team that can only do the one orb then good. If 6 orbs is going to be necessary for hard mode then there's a good chance that those that can't get it done in normal probably won't be able to do it on hard. The 6 orb method is kinda like the crota encounter if u didn't have a excellent sword bearer you weren't getting crota and if you don't have good gazers your not doing all six
-
3 RepliesWe juggle the gaze for the two closest left orbs. Then we kill adds and go again. Good tradeoff of the complications of all six and the time waste of only doing one at a time.
-
7 RepliesDoing all of the orbs is the fastest way to kill golgoroth, but that requires the team to not be bad. Doing 1 orb at a time takes much longer but is easier for teams who can't manage to stay alive doing all the orbs. My team does both methods, we choose depending on who we bring in as our 5th and 6th. Some of our friends can't stay alive if we do all the orbs so we have to do 1 at a time.
-
My team and I always do the six orb strat. It's just easier for us.
-
Six orbs. Less than half health after one run. Fight lasts only a few minutes.
