So Stormcaller with max chain is a beast, and Sunsinger will always be top tank in the game. But with Stormcaller now a thing, I've having real problems feeling effective on my Voidwalker. Any tips?
I'm running an Obs Mind Energy Drain build, with toughness + speed, Blink, and Surge on melee. While I feel evasive enough, I a) don't seem to be filling my super anywhere near as fast anymore, even with maxed Intellect and Super-on-kill, and b) don't feel like my squishiness is offset by orb generation anymore, when the Stormcaller does it better.
Is it time to relegate Voidwalker to PvP only, or does it still have a place? Would I be better going back to persistant Nova/Vortex, and use it for position control and tanking?

Void walker is fun but it doesn't match stormcallers boss damage or kill potential.

I still run void, way more deadly than stormcaller. Run the two melee gloves, run surge, run BLOOM! But here's the key. Run INVECTIVE Using invective with surge reloading the last shot and shooting instead of reloading the whole clip does double dmg and with surge you can do this twice as fast as any other class. Usually I do this build for strikes so I can blink rush through to the end. Tons of fun. Raid I suggest sunsinger so if you go down for oryx you can get back up and flame shield can help save you if your orb is overwhelmed with mobs. Honestly not a fan of stormcaller, its a glass cannon build with none of the mobility of void class. It's slower and only has blink if you sacrifice your double distance chain. Feedback double melee and double charge still wasn't as fun as a single punch to 6 grouped thralls as void and watching them all chain explode.

void in pvp / stormcaller in pve Stormcaller cannot kill anyone's other supers. It dies to everything, nova bomb, GG, hammers, fist of panic, etc It also takes a long time to kill someone, 2-3 seconds of constant direct, in melee range, channeling. In Rift for example, when chasing a runner, thats WAY too long. in PvE is where it shines.

Although stormcaller is great fun, I'll always be a voidwalker. Same way even though shadowshot is amazing I'll aways be a bladedancer.

1 ReplyI recommend using the Voidwalker with high agility, life steal, and claws of ahamkara. It almost acts as a poor man's ram.

I love voidwalker and will always utilize it. My build is Grenades : axion, or vortex Jumps: blink (best to use it defensively or as a boost of speed) or focused burst Super: vortex Melee: soul rip Angry magic Arcane spirit Divine/ ancestral order Bloom/ vortex mastery Currently, I would recommend to just go ham. Get as many kills as plausible & hold your nova bomb. Under residual circumstances, this could be utilized as crowd control. However with the orb nerf, and the new classes (storm caller especially) you'd just be wasting it. Wait till you find some majors and bring them to half health then nova bomb. Be defensive with your movement or just be fast. Works for me. You can also attempt to articulate your and if you are in a team their supers, and unload it on a boss at once since you don't have to be up close and personal

Add in the Imperial Death March when the super is started would be the only way to improve stormcaller supers. Love it

2 RepliesVoid walker is fun. And I love blink when I want to have fun and move fast thats what I use

Honestly, stormcaller simply has more utility in ttk. When it comes to clearing adds, stormcaller wins. Decent damage resistance + a roaming super with high dps. Nova bomb can't compare to that, especially with the nerf to the orb system. Even in pvp, stormcaller generally nets more kills for the same reason. Nova bomb only really is used to shut down other supers. I love nova bomb, but you gotta admit, going Palpatine on everything is just frickin awesome lol
