I am inclined to a group between 100 - 150 members. But I would say that the specific number is less important than how we are able to interact with each other as a group. What i mean is, if we say "under 100" but just add everyone who takes an interest one day but then never really does anything to build the community but just uses the clan as a place to farm +1 to their fireteams etc - then that can become as impersonal as a group that has 500+. So just a few questions. If we are going to stay under 100, what determines membership? And what if we have 100 but 50 haven't really been any part of the group in any meaningful way? Do we just decline to accept new members who may be more dedicated? How would we go about maintaining a thriving community regardless of number? I think some structure is good without being overly restrictive? Can we set up events/ways to get people together (at the same time recognizing that we all have other RL duties to attend to)? I had a previous post of Groupme about designating someone as a '+1' at least on some days so that we can float and help out clan members with whatever they need. What about permanent threads on bungie for the weekly, one for the dailies, and one for random quests/strikes/crucibles? Id like to help out in any way possible - we might consider events and recruitment/member leadership members. Stuff like that.

  • I've got no problem disclosing that I am one who voted for the smaller Clan. However, Paul has some good questions, regardless of the size. Without being restrictive and leaving our doors open for some great people to join down the line, I guess all we can do is ask the new folk that they read the Mission Statement, that they know we are founded on it and take it seriously (I know we're not to get too serious here, but, I'm very serious about rude people). And, if a certain individual is being complained about, we deal with that person swiftly. I also think that while we're not too large, we should soon set up a time for some of us to be on mic and maybe discuss this. Is that being too serious? I dunno...I do know that if we allow the 'flood gates' to be open all the time, our (MadMax's) Mission Statement will become lost. I've known some clans to set a limit initially, but periodically check for inactives (dunno who we'd do that), purge them, then have an 'open' recruitment to resupply their numbers. Again, if I'm sounding a bit harsh, just know that I'm here to help with whatever I can, for the better-ment of the Watchful Crows. RonTheTierHog...on XboxOne. :)

  • You are bringing some very valid points here. Even though I kinda scout when recruiting by looking at the profile, there is no way to know if someone's gonna be active or not, which is finally not really the point if one just wants to be part of a fireteam and nothing more. Shutting down membership could make us miss some pretty cool member. So I guess we'll let it organically grow until we hit a bump and act accordingly. As for the thread post about weekly, daily and quest, I am all for it even though my Raid post is not really the popular kid in the block, haha. If you want to manage these posts, I'd gladly take the help. But no pressure :) The +1 is a fantastic idea! Lets see how we can make it work out. And if you have suggestions for events/recruitment and whatnot, shoot! Thanks for your input and may the Crow be with you ;)

  • I'll gladly be a +1 at times. I rarely go a day without playing and I'm on a LOT more than I should be!! Lol I'll gladly help out with anything I can or anything you or anyone else needs me for. Oh and I wanted to mention that I think that when we see a new member join. We should try to encourage them to join groupme because it makes communication much faster and easier. I also think we should all add the members and reach out to them here and there. ;) that's just my personal opinion! I agree with everything that's been said in this thread. "We shall fly together"

  • Right on, Paul. If you've got that kind of experience, that's awesome.
