(Note: This is an honest comparison between the underpowered Gally and the respectable Norfleet.)
Time to lay out the facts:
The Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than any Rocket Launcher I have ever seen in any game.
Not only is the damage laughable, the pitiful amount of "wolf pack" rounds it fires reminds me of a marshmallow gun.
In order to make the most sense possible out of this post, I will compare it to one of the best Rocket Launchers I have ever seen: The Norfleet. from Borderlands 2.
Let's make out the comparisons:
Norfleet:
Deals massive damage in an extremely large radius.
Carries significantly more ammo than the Gjallarhorn.
Can instantly kill user if incompetent.
Can be used in association with Slag, an elemental variant, instantly killing bosses.
Fires several projectiles at once, each possessing amazing damage potential.
Deals extremely large amounts of DoT, in several different elements.
Ammo is plentiful and can be regened nearly instantly with the right equipment.
Blast can be nullified if wearing certain equipment.
HAS A MUCH HIGHER CHANCE OF DROPPING FROM SPECIFIC ENEMIES RATHER THAN RELYING SOLELY ON RNG
Gjallarhorn:
Deals low damage to bosses unless paired with several others.
Has homing projectiles that split after intial impact.
Homing rounds do minimal damage.
Can instantly kill user in many scenarios.
Relies on Burns to do extra damage.
Ammo is rare, and often only found from dead enemies. Worthless on bosses.
ONLY COMES IN ONE ELEMENTAL VARIANT.
Based on the previous findings, including a list of pros and cons for each, I have found that the Gjallarhorn is significantly worse than the Norfleet.
You cannot argue with this.

2 RepliesYou can't compare Borderlands and Destiny directly or Borderlands will always be above it. I'm hitting 100K on Golgoroth while he's tethered, I have weapons of light, and get a crit while in the pool of reclaimed light. 100K is a huge number on Destiny for damage. In Borderlands, I can hold 2 guns at once, one that makes them take extra damage and heals me, one that shoots like 12 explosive bullets out per shot, I get like 25% health back on the damage I do, I regenerate ammo, and can solo every activity in the game, and hitting millions in damage is a normal sight. The difference is that Borderlands got old ALOT faster than Destiny, just because after you get the setup you want, nothing was a challenge after that. I loved it to death, but the 2nd one was just broken once you hit the OP levels.
