I have a question that has been bothering me since the release of the Taken King Expansion, and it has to do with many of the old weapons that I and other players have worked so hard over the past year to obtain. What do we do now?
Bungie professionals announced a few weeks ago that instead of ascending our gear to help it to reach current levels of power a new method would be made available to Destiny players. That method turned out to be Infusing, which allows the light existing in one piece of gear in the same class to be transferred to a weaker weapon or piece of armor at the cost of destroying the donated piece.
I thought: "Well, not awesome, but good enough."
But that was until I realized that it only seems to apply to Bungie's newest creations. The old gear that I fought and re-fought to get and have grown to enjoy is not included. Not one single piece.
It feels like such a rip off.
I enjoyed using my elemental Primary Weapons, even though it meant needing to switch out a lot.
Still, isn't that kind of the point of carrying more than one weapon around and more than one type of weapon in the first place? So that one can switch out weapons and gear, as needed, to fit a situation, a need, or a mood. Why suddenly make all of our hard fought for old gear suddenly obsolete like that?
Have I missed something?
Are plans under way to make the Infusion ability available for our old gear in a few short weeks or months?
Are new Elemental Primaries going to be made available to us? Weapons that will have perks and stats that are as good as or better than the old ones used to be?
Please let us know because right now this seems like such a rip.
Thank you for your time.
