Update from the support chat:
The supervisor I have been talking with has acknowledged that they are getting many reports and that they are looking into the issue due to the rapidly increasing numbers they are getting with the same problem. It is also said that this is likely known to Bungie (duh!) and that a statement/fix should be coming.
That said, I am dubious about the last part considering the canned response given by Help Staff here. Either way, it is something that Bungie has to fix and that Microsoft is dealing with a storm over. Most I can suggest now is to be patient for a little while at least.

Had to bite the bullet anyway. Bungie was doing nothing and I wanted my stuff to work. Now if the shills stopped spreading bad info around
