It's honestly not what I expected it to be, but it's certainly a pretty cool trophy/achievement to get it

Certainly not for boss use, but for clearing adds, it's certainly interesting. If combined with a subclass that has any sort of healing aspect (life steal, transfusion, etc) it may work out well. I'll be going for the Fear's Embrace quest tomorrow. I almost completed it, got the main boss to 25% then the wizard and adds showed up and I got obliterated.

Edited by MistaCloudStrife: 9/25/2015 5:22:04 AMFor Sisters and Oryx, this thing is a monster. You're invincible in the shield, so you can do massive DPS on them. If everyone has ToM, you can probably melt the sisters in 2-3 cycles and shut down oryx in 3-4 cycles.
-
We did the 2 sisters with sniper rifles in 2 cycles xD So that'd certainly be interesting with that gun. 2 cycles is the minimum anyway.
-
Yeah, did sisters in 2 cycles and only 2 of us on our alts had ToM. We beat Oryx in 4, but we probably could do it faster with more of them. Otherwise it's actually a good scout rifle with insane rate of fire. You just have to remember to reload or retreat when you think you might die.
-
I wonder how that'll work though, say if you have blessings of light on. Does it take from the shield, or would it still take from the health, you just wouldn't be able to see it because of the shield bar overlapping the health bar.
-
No, no. In the raid, you have to steal one of the sister's shields. This grants invincibility against everything, including their team-wipe attack. At this portion you can deal as much damage as you want with it without having to worry about taking any damage. The same thing applies to Oryx. You steal the shield from the knight that spawns and do the exact same thing.
-
Ah I figured for that, I just wondered in general. Take it into pvp, reload when there's too much going on and every bit of health counts, but when you have blessings of light, just let lose xD
-
I'd have to try it. I'm assuming it would take from the shield though. It's a good strat to try out. Imagine 6 perma-bubble titans all with ToM.
-
Get passed his scripted damage to get him killed in 2 runs, that would be hilarious. The speed run time so far is something like 44 minutes, which for how recently the raid came out, is crazy fast. Maybe with that gun, it'll bring the time down even more. Cause even with Golgorath, the belly shooters won't be at risk of anything (so long as the cursed thralls are taken care of).
-
I see this happening. Jumped into the raid at the sister's and Oryx today. We wiped 4 times total because we had some first timers and they became taken, but we ended up finishing them both at around 19 minutes. If there were no wipes, you could probably cut that in half. The first jumping puzzle probably takes longer than most successful boss runs.
-
Just imagine doing that raid, now, as flawless xD
-
its made for the raid and it works like a charm
-
I find any gun with firefly is nice, for the raid, but I also got the raid auto rifle, so that too has been useful. The raid weapon has a chance to get 'crowd control'. Hopefully if I clear the raid again, I'll get that as a drop instead. I've got "eye of the storm" on it, and I don't feel it to be completely necessary.
-
Ohh that's true that could definitely work then, and yea I hated that mission so much dude lol good luck
-
And it sucks too, because I really want black spindle, and that mission is even worse... I might try the sword strategy next time the daily appears for that one, but even then... those -blam!-ing darkness balls...
-
Balls first, then adds. Ignore boss till room is quiet
-
Just a matter of increasing dps pretty much.
-
Oh I feel ya lol me n my fireteam somehow beat it on our 2nd try, guess you just gotta have some luck
-
And a clear view X_x The earliest we got to his room was when we still at 7:15 remaining, but could barely get a shot on him. A cool strat I saw on youtube was a hunter using their group invis and then the 3 of them would sword the boss until they all died, then they'd clear the room a little, as well as the blights and go at him again.
-
We did this but put a bubble with armor of light and we could kill him easy. However the strat that finally worked for us was just shoot everything the whole time. Just shoot boss normally and adds and then drop your supers on adds as well. Storm caller and sunbreaker for add clear is amazing. Then our hunter would spawn more orbs for us with nightstalker.
you can still get the black spindle just put the mission on 240/heroic
-
I thought the dev confirmed it as being only a part of the daily heroic (on reddit). I would like to try to get it asap though, since it is 310 xD
-
I believe i read esrliwr ppl were able to get it still just with the heroic modifier on strike. I may be wrong but yea its awesome. Since they are dropping it to 290 i bought a second and raised it to 308 with the 310 one. Best use of shards yet.
-
Oh that actually seems like a really good strategy. My n group just stayed in the little entrance room and killed ads and popped out to shoot him with snipers, also I was a night stalker using the tether to add a lot more damage.
-
Yeah that's a good plan too. I think that was the one we did the most. Maybe even going armor of light over top of him might be good too. Even chaining orbs would be great. Like stormtrance or sunsinger then sunbreakers come in as well. Of course all this is written theory much easier said than done X_x
-
Yea definitely cause there's just so many ads
