Deej, that mission was a nightmare. Have you played it? Try getting the spindle yourself, and then see how you feel about the idea of making it only 290. 310 is an appropriate reward for the hell you put us through, and nerfing the spindle is a slap in the face to all the players who put in the effort to get it done.
Touch of malice is 310, because of how hard it is to get.
Exotic swords are 310 because of how hard they are to get.
Black Spindle was harder than both of them put together. Please don't insult us by making it just another plain old exotic. It deserves to be 310 just like the other hard to get "super-exotics"

Exotics are not 310 based on how hard they are to get. Touch of Malice and the exotic swords are not drops. They are quest rewards. Deej specifically said drops. Meaning stuff you get automatically after killing a boss of some sort
-
Thanks for that distinction. Doesn't have any bearing on the point that I'm making, which is that a 310 drop was an appropriate reward for completing something most agree was more difficult than any raid battle, all of which can drop 300-310 gear.
-
I have the Malice and the sword and I agree, the Spindle was definitely the hardest thing I've done in Destiny, harder than the raid for sure.
-
I don't get this lol Took me 20 minutes How was the raid not harder?! Oryx took multiple days
-
The raid is simply not harder. If everyone knows what to do you can kill everything without wiping up till Oryx easily. Then with the final fight it's just a matter of everyone on the team executing their role at the same time. With the Spindle it is punishing because one or two deaths will ruin it. Ads spawn every 15-20 seconds and almost instakill you even at 297 light. I have done chaperone, exotic sword, malice, etc and Spindle was by far the most difficult to obtain.
-
Think of it this way In terms of punishing deaths oryx is FAR more unforgivable. In almost every point in the final fight someone can't die. Examples: to detonate bomb, dps to make him flinch, activate platforms, final dps. Whereas in spindle mission my fire team died multiple times yet we finished with like 2 minutes
-
I guess it's a matter of opinion we had several deaths in oryx and can still finish him and make up the dps the next go around. The only time a death really bones you if it's a guy on a pad who makes the platforms disappear.
-
Vex original was hard to get Black Spindle meh. Could be done with enough time or high level fire team. I attempted a few times but ran out of time and my fire team was not the most skilled. Regardless it should be a 290. But the ones that got it at 310 should be able to keep it at 310. But that's not going to happen.
-
Bro you literally made no point at all. So if you had more time and a better team you could get it? So could everyone else. The time is what makes this challenging. Come back when you have a spindle then we will talk.
-
You already covered it by pointing out that you didn't get it. Assuming you'd have gotten it if you had a better fire team doesn't help. The point isn't that it was impossible because it obviously wasn't. The point is only that it was difficult enough to deserve a 310 weapon as its reward - and since most people agree it was harder than the raid, which is the primary source of 300+ gear, and also harder than other methods of obtaining 310 exotics like the sword or the touch of malice, it is indeed hard enough to be worthy of a 310 drop.
-
It was easy as -blam!-, git gud scrub
-
Got it, helped half a dozen more get it after. Said it was difficult enough to be worthy of a 310 drop, not that it was impossible. Thanks for playing.
-
please explain how an hour tops of grinding is worthy of 310 gear.
-
Edited by Bloodlust: 9/24/2015 2:49:17 PMYou said an hour tops. The sheer number of people who spent all day in that mission determined that was a lie. Exotic swords are 310, yet far easier to get. The touch of malice is 310, yet easier to get. Raid gear is over 300 yet easier to get. Please explain why any of those things deserve to be over 300 if a reward from an even more difficult activity does not.
-
How was it that difficult...kill adds then boss. Did it with a group of 291 289 and 285
-
Exactly. Kill the infinite swarm of 300 light level enemies that can wipe the entire team in a matter of seconds and that continually respawn as you kill them so that by the time you clear the room, the side you started on has already repopulated, including scions who multiply as fast as you can kill them if you're not using a super... then kill the boss. If you want to know how that was hard, ask the countless number of people who spent all day trying and couldn't do it, or all the people who breeze through the raid like its nothing and agree that fight was harder than anything the raid throws at you. If you found it easy, congratulations, you're in the top 1% of players in the game. But guess what? If an activity is only easy for the top 1%, that doesn't mean it's not hard, it only means it's not flat out impossible.
-
No way this is in the top 1%...beating Warsaw without cheese maybe.
-
Edited by Bloodlust: 9/24/2015 5:29:09 PMEven if we're generous and expand it to the top 5%, the point still stands. But regardless, the fact is that even if you only count the people who attempted it, even if you only count the people who attempted it AND had a fire team where everyone was over 290, the amount who actually did it is incredibly low - as low or lower than the same analysis of people who attempted/completed activities like the raid or nightfalls or the quests for the other 310 exotics. Most people who got it (or tried like hell and failed) agree that the last fight was at least as hard as, if not harder than, anything they faced in the raid or any content where the rewards are over 300 light. So if that fight doesn't merit a 310 reward, then neither do those others - including the raid itself.

Of course he's not played it
-
Who hasn't played what?
-
Second sentence asks if Deej has played the quest. The answer is of course he hasn't.
-
Oh. Yeah, I know. It was meant more to point that fact out to Deej, not to suggest that I think he's actually played it.
-
please, there is no way getting the BS was that hard. i did it and we got it on the first try.
-
I know right, first try here aswell. People saying it took them HOURS, if that's so, that's pathetic, my raid group and I can clear kings fall faster.
