A funny thing happened to Black Spindle
Hello, Guardians.
Right this every minute, many of you are acquiring Black Spindle. Surprise!
Wouldn't you know it, there is a bug that is enabling some of these weapons to drop at 310 - that's 20 points higher than intended. In the near future, we'll be releasing an update that will adjust the Black Spindle to match the attack rating for other Year Two Exotics.
It has also come to our attention that you are using this new acquisition to Infuse your other weapons. Good on you. Have fun with that. None of those weapons will be affected by this change - only the Spindle.

4 RepliesYou shouldn't have applied to to the ones that already dropped. You have effectively affected someone's gameplay by doing so. I'm one of those people that's having a really rough time leveling to 300 light level. Black spindle has helped me and I like it but you have wiped all my efforts away in one instance, thus affecting my game play.

You destroyed my original black hammer... and required me to get the exotic version via difficult mission and now ruin it again. This game just confused me and not fun any more.

Well FU, I got my other Black spindle lowered to 280 even after I had infused if with ither weapons, -blam!-ing lazzy

Again just a suggestion for the future. This is the first time I have ever posted a complaint about the game. But next time you mistakenly have a weapon drop 20 attack points higher than intended can you just please learn from your mistake and move on. In your message you posted above you did not clarify that no matter what your spindle is at we will decrease it by 20 attack. Myself and friends bought spindles off the wall in the Hall of Guardians and infused them to 310 thinking we should be fine just to fine out we wasted our time. The one thing that I don't understand is that how much time was wasted with this little error? How much time of your developers was wasted patching this? Or all the wasted time collecting guns to infuse my 300 BS purchased off the wall to 310 from the community. The developers time and effort could have been focused on more important things. Bungie has always been great at learning from mistakes and this should be an example. Other than that loving year 2. Regards, Squid

1 ReplySo I finally infuse my black spindle to 310 and even though it wasn't done using spindles I lose 30 light off of my weapon. Seriously bungie? This is BS. I can't get the time back or the weapons I used to infuse it. I'd like compensation for my time being wasted. You can patch an exploit within hours, so I expect this to be rectified.

1 ReplyYou could have clarified that it was ALL black spindles and not just the 310 looted black spindles (as the wording here suggests). I'm the owner of a kiosk Black Spindle that was infused up to 310 and then taken back to 290. It's unfair that the bug, which I didn't create, and was poorly communicated hurts the players most.

1 ReplyDeej if you have any respect for the players of destiny, as a community manager, you need to find out why kiosk spindles were reverted to 290 and inform us. Or do a better job, making it painfully obvious, what the intentions are in the future for situations like this. Go ahead and break it down Barney style.

IMO this was the dumbest thing Bungie has done since TTK came out. It's not easy to get the Black Spindle and should've been left at 310 or at least 300. Way to screw us Bungie. Thx.

I got mine 290 and infused 2 other weapons and guess what It was reduced to 287. F/uck you bungie. Couldn't even at least give me the 290.

Deej, I realize that you warned us about the drop in power (something I personally missed) but just because we were warned doesn't really make it all that much better :/ like many others have said already, it seems like there is no reason for you guys to take the damage away and it gave me a sick feeling in my stomach to look at my character and realize you did actually drop my weapon's power. That sick feeling is something I'm disappointed to associate with Destiny but it happened. You guys must have seen the consequence of taking back a gift right? If not you should really look in to hiring someone (or someone better) to predict how your changes will be received to hopefully avoid these shenanigans in the future.

@DeeJ It would have been nice if you were more clear in your explanation of the matter for future instances. I purposely did not infuse my 310 spindle as I was unsure if you meant only future dropped spindles or all spindles in the game. After replying and inquiring about my dilemma I found my post ignored and eventually removed for some reason. The post was in this thread. I've been grinding as much as possible for 300 light as most people won't even blink at you for a potential raid teammate unless your there. The spindle attack "fix" just bumped me down even lower now. I'm not on here to complain about your mistakes or tell you what to do but merely ask for a little consistency in game and weapon mechanics and professionalism on the forums in regards to big changes as such. Inb4 yall asking if I experienced forever 29, yes I have. Inb4 anyone telling me 20 attack doesn't matter Inb4 you tell me the spindle mission wasn't a bit spicy. I'll be just fine I know it but that's not the point. Endless grindage is not the answer. If anything you've lit a fire under me rear end yet also really irked me at the same time. Jerks.
