Beat Oryx and got 2 moldering shards for a reward
Beat Oryx with 20+ moldering shards and all I got for rewards were 2 moldering shards. That's crap. You took 20 from me for better rewards and didn't even give me a weapon. You gave 2 moldering shards.
So my reward for beating the hardest boss in destiny was negative 18 moldering shards. Thanks Bungie!
Edit: Ok, so some of you are saying that it's RNG and other raids have only given you materials. Yes, this is true. However, when have you ever beaten a boss and after had less than what you started with. Taking 20 shards and only getting the guaranteed 2 from beating him is a broken mechanic.

At the Daughters, many people in 2 different raids received NOTHING. No shards, nothing. The Loot chest did not even show up for me and others - once after daughters. Nothing waiting at the post office. Clearly a bug that needs to be fixed, NOT screwed by RNG, screwed by bad programming. Loot system is broken. On top of the fact that..... Bungie is stringing us along. BUT.. just makes me want to quit instantly.. not keep going. And honestly, I think saying that they are using a tactic to string us along is too much credit. Bugs and thievery. Don't even get me started about the shade from Oryx hard mode... what crap.. right after being thrown in with a shade that kills me before my screen even shows up / still black before giving me a view of the shaders white dome... So wrong. Spawning us under Oryx's blade .01 seconds before he slams in that exact spot.. What a terrible programming oversight. Great game with even greater blunders. I just read that Daughters checkpoint could have been absent because it was used on the normal mode that same week.. I guess that's what happened.. BUT.. to receive total crap from Oryx is a real kick in the pants. It's hard to get 6 guys to get their sh*t together and stay alive and play consistent. My gauranteed Oryx drop was only a pair of Guantlets at 311. Already got 3 pairs.. Wow.. so worth the 3 hour effort of doing well but waiting on one or two raid teams to NOT DIE .

agreed the mechanic is broken. I have gotten nothing from golgoroth on hard twice this week, as well as nothing from the deathsingers on hard twice. And warpriest gave me nothing twice as well........ and I only did hard this week no normal mode... It doesn't make sense. Bungie you are wasting our time with your broken loot system!!!!!!!!!!!! Fix it!

I agree with this it happened to me as well we were on same fireteam if they are going to make something take 20 moldering shards to give you better rewards then it should provide you with better rewards

Same thing happened to me. The only good part was I previously put my shards in the vault before the fight. I guess bunghole logic is two shards is a drop even though they're an item that's suppose to improve your drop. I know they do this intentionally to keep us grinding/playing. Word of mouth or seeing others do something you're not is the best advertising and if the raids and game had better drops we wouldn't play/advertise for them as much. Just playing this until something better comes out, for me that's the division, others halo 5 fallout, etc

Same here, took 20 shard got 2 in return, lol, ran oryx from week 1 with no 310 drops , terrible drops , no ghost , no helmet, 304 was my highest drop of armour. At this rate I might attempt hard mode next year.

What's a moldering shard? I haven't had a chance to run a raid yet. [edit] Never mind, I figured it out. Type Material Rarity Legendary Acquired by Defeating enemies and opening chests in King's Fall, Purchase from Eris Morn Function With 20+ Moldering Shard, grants extra loot when players defeat Oryx in King's Fall. -
