TLW and old Thorn weren't OP either. Sure bruh...
The hammer of sol is currently the most ridiculous super in the game. It's incredibly stacked to kill, and not die, even more so than arcblade.
It has more damage resistance than Arcblade, has a one hit melee kill. Has an aoe golden gun that can provide an overshield, has more hammer shots than a Symbiote wearing Gunslinger and thus has no meaningful counterplay outside of burning your own super.
You can kill a gunslinger if you flank him because he has no dmg reduction.
You can trade with a bladedancer doing a shotgun+melee.
You can't do either one of those against a Sunbreaker.
Novabomb and Fist of Panic are geographically constrained to one single point. Like B on the Cauldron.
The Titan however, can pop his super, run from A to C on The Cauldron, while passing through B, and can wipe an entire fireteam. On his path.
The hammer of sol is ridiculous.
The hammers either need TLW level of damage drop off, need to get way harder to aim, or the damage reduction has to get halved. At best, a combination of all of those, simply because the super is basically 3 supers in one (overshield being the WoD).

the hammer of sol sucks in pve
-
It's very easy to avoid

OG last word was op. But thorn... well, there was a glitch going around. You noobs wouldn't understand it...
-
We noobs? Your stats aren't that great either :) There was a glitch with the last Round perk. Apart from that, double tapping the head and running away was just far too easy with the range and auto aim the weapon had. There's a reason why you suddenly started to see Warlocks with the Ram everywhere. Saying that Thorn wasn't OP.... Dafuq?
-
Oh, no, it wasn't last round. The DOT was messed up. I think it was unintentional. Whatever, just go back to playing the game, kiddo.
-
Before noobs. Now kiddo. It seems as though this game was really made for teens...
-
Lol no OHK melee, can trade with sunbreaker, almost same kill potential with BD.
-
Edited by Killlerschaf: 9/22/2015 9:18:17 PMYes it's a one hit kill melee, and compared to the Bladedancer, the titan has a ranged super, which is another issue in terms of balancing. The Titan super simply has too much going for it right now. Its kill potential is greater than Bladedancer's, if the whole fireteam doesn't try to take a certain point, simply because of the range.
-
No not ohk
-
In the PvP, it is. Like, why do we even debate such things....
-
Because false info is unhealthy
-
Indeed. That's why I have no idea how you can say that it's not a one hit kill in PvP. Which again, means that this discussion should have never been held.
-
Because it cannot OHK
-
Suncharge is a one hit kill. Do you even PvP?
-
Surcharge? You cant classify that as a melee -_- . Its like shoulder charge.
-
Edited by Killlerschaf: 9/22/2015 11:53:53 PMAre. You. Kidding. Me ? Read my posts. I only talked about the super, never about any other of the Sunbreaker's abilities. Suncharge is as much of a melee as arcblade. Just with a hammer. Instead of a knife.
-
You cant adress the suncharge as a melee because it isnt, if you say melee it is automatically asumed you meant sunstrike. Read your posts, probably just nerf damage reduction and thats it.
-
I never said that it wasn't the most powerful super, this isn't a "stop complaining about OP Sunbreaker" Thread. It's a thread giving credit where credit is due. I don't care if someone kills me with hammer of sol then does it again a minute later, because two things happened. 1. I wasn't smart enough to run when I heard it coming. 2. He just got a crap ton of kills with guns to get his super back, so he deserves it. Also, cauldron is tiny, and unless he only threw a single hammer at each location, he still cant get that far. I haven't tested it on that map, but that seems like a bit of a stretch from my experience with it.
-
It was a bit of a hyperbole, yes. He won´t make it to C most likely. He can throw hammers onto C, by standing on the frontdoor however. If he skates and has the more hammer perk, then this is absolutely feasible.
-
remember hammer of sol melee is actually a perk it doesn't come with it
-
Edited by Killlerschaf: 9/22/2015 1:10:20 PMThat is certainly correct, but a ranged and spammable super shouldn't get this amount of damage resistance nonetheless.
-
i think the super by itself is fine but too much damage resist i mean if i can take a rocket to the face that tells us something
-
Y and why did they nerf the mythoclast in the first place, it was weak anyway. Only skilled players could use it :D
