if i remember correctly that is the way it used to have to be done on the older xbox consoles, each controller was assigned an xbox tag and whoever actually had the game had to be resigned in, if they were out of town and no one knew their password to sign them back in and they got signed out by the console after awhile no one could play the games assigned to that gamertag.
Also, if i remember correctly, the fine print from microsoft for xbox live and xbox live gold and allowing other profiles to play games that one profile has, all state that it only applies to games which support those features, the developer still has the option to support those features or not, just with the success of halo combat evolved and other games using xbox live since then, its become an expected feature from the xbox community, but expected doesn't make it obligatory for the developer to include it.
its their intellectual property at the end of the day, and they can do what they want with it.
anyway, what i'm personally most curious about is when can i pre-order the next two expansions and the next big expansion? taken king really got me into the game more and i want to be able to pre order the next legendary/collectors bundle of the two expansions and next big one or sequel soon as i can please, because i really like the game now a lot more then when i bought it during house of wolves build of the game :)
