Do YOU want ALL your Y1 Exotics brought up to Y2 damage?

Yes

No (explain why)

Simple question. DeeJ said in an interview that he doesn't want us to look at our favorite weapon and consider it obsolete. I look at my Ballerhorn, Thorn, Dragon's Breath and...they're obsolete. Just a poll to see where the community stands. Bump so Cozmo can see. Edit: Woke up to a billion notifications. Thanks for all the feedback. But you guys that say "Oh, well no because gjally never left my heavy slot." That's your own fault. There were plenty of decent heavies in Year One. You guys were too chickenshit to try them. Thunderlord and Dragon's Breath, in many cases, can do just as much damage as Gjally can, if not more. Especially post 2.0. And I don't care if Gjally stays in my inventory for the next ten years, I have a story with a weapon I love. Edit 2: Seeing a lot of people being open to the idea, but leaving Gjallarhorn behind. In all honesty, I'm completely fine with this. Gjallarhorn is an amazing weapon, but it's lethality was ridiculous. As long as I can have all my other exotic weapons and armor, I'll be fine. Keep bumping and commenting! We've been trending for a while! Get Cozmo to see and comment on this!

  • I was skeptical at first, but come on. I don't want to be ghorning and icebreaking the bosses anymore.

    • Slowly. Bring them in slowly. Which is what they are doing.

    • The way I see it, Bungie has already put in the effort and time to create the weapons. Why not re-spec them for year 2? My exotic sniper only had 1 day with me before TTK released.

    • I think they should faze them back in one by one over time... Giving everyone time to get comfortable with new ones... Then it'll be more balanced, and when we get one back it'll be like an event

    • Necrochasm needs to come forward, they just made it viable and like a week later it was worthless again. Biggest tease of all time, in fact ALL raid exotics need to be updated.

    • I want them all, especially raid specific gear. Alot of people say "why do you want to play with the same gear over the course of the 10 year game plan that is destiny" imo that won't happen. As long as new exotics are exciting and are harder hitting, people will gravitate to them (which TTK has done a fantastic job so far). But you shouldn't remove people's options by failing to bring through exotics. For some (myself included) , some of the year 1 exotics were never found, or only just earned prior to year 2. By not bringing them forward, they will never be used or enjoyed and that feels wrong. By all means tweak them if they were op to bring them in line, but they should come forward Exotics by their very nature are special, and they, and they alone should always be brought forward.

    • I'd say yes, and no. :) I fully expected some weapons and armour to be left behind. That's how any MMO goes. My problem is with how, and which, weapons were decided upon. I personally feel there should have been a dividing line made between Weapons and Armour which were bought from Xur and Weapons and Armour which you had to graft to achieve through Exotic Bounties. Because spending strange coins to get a quick advantage (cough, cough... Gjallarhorn...) is one thing. Jumping though dozens of complicated hoops to get Super Good Advice, Pocket Infinity or Thorn is another. When you got taken down by one of those in Crucible matches you kind of had to respect it. Because you knew that the guy who had it had worked damned hard to get it. Only Bad Juju and Invective made the switch to Year 2 from those Exotic Bounty Weapons. I personally feel that is just plain wrong. I can understand that those weapons are overpowered at times, but think it would have been far better to nerf them very slightly, ad then created armour which better protects you from their effects, than simply drop them. An armour which slows Thorn's poison shots for example. Gjallarhorn, and a dozen other 'Purchase Exotics' should have been left behind. I'm fine with that. But having grafted to get all but one Exotic Bounty Weapon in Year 1 I feel somewhat cheated. It's basically like saying 'Don't bother to graft for things in Destiny. They won't be worth the effort'. Which is a pretty shitty message to players. :(

I'm ambivolent. It seems so easy to get high level equipment from scratch then what's the point? Having said that infinite Ice Breaker bullets of G'horn Wolfpack rounds would be nice I guess. But this new system where you can have 290..300 blues seems a bit "odd" to say the least. There seems no particular incentive to strive for purple or yellow as you can get all you really need at the blue level. Maybe they should raise the cap on purple weapons to 310 and exotics to 320 to give some incentive to try to get them?

      • I voted no because old stuff gets boring, new stuff is more exciting! I've even been disappointed with the year 2 versions of year 1 exotics I've got so far because I want the new ones more! I also thinks its great because it mixes things up. I got into a routine of using the same small group of weapons, now I'm using lots of different ones. Like fusions for example, hadn't used them in ages but now I am again (Telesto Master Race!). There wouldn't be much excitement getting new weapons if you were still just going to use the old ones.

        • They said that only a few exotics AT THIS TIME would make it to year 2. Which leads me to believe that all year one exotics will eventually make it.

        • I only miss Gjallarhorn, the legendary rocket launchers so far are a bit rubbish. I'll probably buy a Y2 Truth if one doesn't drop soon. Ace of Spades is better for me than the three Y1 exotic hand cannons so I'm not missing them. Y2 Hawkmoon is great too though. I like a lot of the new guns, it's still early days and there's more to discover.

            • New stuff is great, the same people who keep spewing about Destiny's lack of content were the same people who went through all PvE with that Big Three of Fatebringer/Black Hammer/Ghorn. Now that you can't rely on year 1 weapons or armor, people will try to go out and find replacements or better versions of weapons they liked from year 1. Plus I didn't use stuff like Patience and Time or Universal Remote all that much anyway.
