DeeJ and I were just conferring with the Design Team about how Three of Coins is performing in the wild. They are aware that the drop rates are too damn high, but for now this works in your favor. You earned those coins. Have fun spending them. The Nine may be delighted that you're blowing them all now.

To give with one hand an to take away with the other. Bungies way

Of course Cozmo would reply to this issue that is helping people get their exotics. "Let's nerf the 3 of Coins now!" Well of course you would Cozmo.

I'm not trying to sound like fancy pants on s high horse (did the gate lord enough times to get a piece of armor and a gun to bump my light, and then lucked out with one more after I saw my friend with a supercell; it is sweet. Also I know the gate lord is WAY not the most efficient, but for some reason I didn't like having to blow myself up, and over the months of playing the gate lord bounty on a minute each time, that bounce to orbit is second nature) but here's my take: This is WAY obviously not how the item was intended. Seems to me like they wanted people who enjoy running strikes to have a good chance of exotic gear, so roughly one exotic every 1-2 hours would be a really nice little bonus, on top of the already more generous drop rates. They are sold in packs of five, which seems about the average number of ultras before an exotic drops. Don't be mad about a community person reaching out to the community and keeping us informed that they are looking at the issue; be happy that nobody writing the software or testing the product remembered the idiotic behaviors we players will discover to chase the loot table and thankful that a hot fix hasn't already been applied.

I'd say the best thing to do is put a cool down on them. Say 1 every 30 minutes or something like that. Keeps the drop rate high, but makes ppl more likely to use it as intended.
-
Really? Why would Bungie care? We paid our money to own this game and you gave us something to help with exotics. Some folks will use heavily and farm, others will not. It is the players choice and with no "original heroic strike", coins will dry up quickly. Especially having to use them to by the engrams too. Put a timer in or leave it alone completely. Don't jack with drop rates cause yall will make it absolutely useless. They need to think this through since they obviously didn't before releasing.....or did they?
-
At some point when you have it all you will stop the farm. Enough said. There is no problem here.
-
We payed for a License to play the game,You do not own anything,Bungie owns it,read ToC
-
When I say "own", I of course mean that I own a copy of the game. I did not mean that I own the rights.....but thanks for your insight
-
Don't patch it yet please, I won't get a chance to do this until next weekend! :-)
-
The way this is hitting were lucky if we hit Sunday... Loot cave year 2
-
Yeh, it'll be patched mid week at the latest by the looks, oh well, I missed loot cave 1 due to vacation and I'll miss this too!
-
If the drop rate gets patched thats fine. But please ask that they never take this feature of farming for exoctic engrams out. This has made the game amazing and more exciting for me.
-
Haha it's actually awesome that you are getting forum post to forum post with the exploiters. You have my respect. Also great job on the update. This is how the game should have been when it came out. Only troubling thing is to do nightfall and other activities you have to have the dlc. Although the update is what pretty much convinced me to get the dlc. Keep it up bungie just don't forget that the gamers are what it's all about, well that and it is a business so the money is good too.

What a joke
-
Three of coins was a stupid idea to begin with.
-
I think it's a cool idea to make strikes more relevant. Just ridiculously poorly implemented at present
-
Ummm no its not. Wtf you smoking? Being able to farm bosses or have them drop from them now. Just gives us more ways to get exoctics and makes the game better. And is good for pve and solo players.
-
It just makes it easier for everyone to get Exotics. Makes them more casual. They might as well be legendaries now. Slowly the role of an EXOTIC is becoming less special.
-
I don't agree but i respect your opinion
-
They have been out for less than 24 hours and already want to be nerfed. Come on isn't this what u intended
-
- Give them a five minute cool down in the wild - Limit them to Strike Playlists/Nightfalls - Put a 3 - 5 Limit per day on them There are other options other than nerfing the droprate, seriously, I barely see any legendaries in the wild....then other people in my fireteam get 3 -5 in a Patrol with me. Droprates are fine....just limit the use of the Drop Rate consumables instead.
-
Bungie are lazy. They do whatever is necessary to save time. Anything you suggest that is simple and not as complex as what they'd like to do is useless feedback to them.
-
I think strikes/raids would be the right fix, maybe 36+. I'd say heroics and up, but for some, this might be the gear they need to simply do a heroic. Seems logical that they're intent was to better reward you from strike bosses, but they happen to be exactly the same "rank" as story bosses which can easily be cheesed
-
Just put a cooldown timer on it, just like ammo synths have.
