DeeJ and I were just conferring with the Design Team about how Three of Coins is performing in the wild. They are aware that the drop rates are too damn high, but for now this works in your favor. You earned those coins. Have fun spending them. The Nine may be delighted that you're blowing them all now.

I think the number of exotics is [b]very[/b] inflated right now because everyone has saved up hundreds of strange coins by now. Give it a week or 2. Everyone will run out of strange coins and it will all balance out.

If you guys are concerned about how high the drop rates are just put a limit to how many can be stacked instead of lowering the rate, if you stack 5 your not guaranteed a drop and is still rare, I stacked 10 earlier and still didn't get one so that was 14 strange coins for nothing. Seems fair to me.

Did 3 runs in a row awhile ago. 1 coin per run. Got Hereafter the first run. Legendary weapon the second run. Telesto the third run.

Doesn't increase chance for legendaries just exotics so the second run had nothing to do with the coin, I have like 50/80 still and only gotten 2 exotics both of which were year 1

I know the legendaries don't count, just put it up there. You got year 1 exotics out of the engrams? Low def or attk?

Too darn high?, maybe one in eight produces something. If you do it legit that's 8 strikes at 20 minutes a piece, give or take. That's around two-and-a-half hours or game time.

Strikes do NOT take 20 minutes. The take maybe 12 minutes at most.

My entire clan decided we would not exploit the game. I would appreciate Bungie not hurting honest people for those that would take advantage of poorly designed mechanics. Someone suggested a cool down timer as a good solution. Secondly, Bungie took away almost all our Y1 weapons only to leave us with lackluster "balanced" weapons that don't even come close to Y1 raid weapons. Secondly, Xur doesn't sell new exotics so now the only way is through the yellow bar boss elimination. Fix the cheese and leave the drop rate alone.

Just put a limit on how many coins you can buy per week. Like 20 coins or something. Might get 2 exotics might get 5. It will prevent people from getting every exotic in 2 days. Just an idea.

But they don't drop too often?! I bought like 30 coins and got 3 engrams. That's 1 every 10 coins. Seems pretty normal to me, not often at all.

Cosmo, don't know if you'll read this but perhaps a decent design restriction would be to have them only work at the end of strikes as that's on average only every 10-20mins. That prevents abuse of the mechanic of rocket suicide

Perhaps change the price of 3 of coins so they're not as easy to obtain? My plan is to use them as intended and pop one each strike, so much content now, not going to rush it.

This. I like it because it's still a random chance. I've gotten one after only 2 and gotten one after 5. Still depends on luck, to a point. A cooldown timer would be appropriate
