The following may get support or hate but i need to say this regardless I would class myself as a committed and loyal Destiny/bungie fan I've invested a lot of time and money into my Destiny obsession i was part of the Closed Alpha Test and Beta Test (this is where my obsession started) i purchased the Ghost Edition Destiny at Launch - £150 along with 2 destiny t-shirts, mug, keyring and a hoodie - £85 i suffered all the teething issues and bugs that all year one players went through, glitchy bosses, massive lag cheats in crucible etc I helped start a new Clan to help friends and new players get into destiny wold and have sherpa new players through the game even if they didn't join the clan (our clan is - Order of The Ivory Wolf - all are welcomed) this mainly took place late evenings as i have a job, wife and 3 children that take most of my time, so sleep had to be sacrificed I work in gaming retail and have personally recruited new destiny players into the game as well as converted xbox users to PS4 i never once complained about the money or time spent even though the game had major issues i then heard about the new limited edition PS4 for destiny and the physical collectors edition of the game with the strange coin and pre-ordered them both at Game in the UK (even though the console included The Taken King) I was told that every copy preordered would receive the early access SUROS pack of guns via download code printed at point of sale I had to sell my current PS4 to help fund this prior to the launch day as i was offered enough money to justify the trade up this meant i didn't have the console in the weeks prior to launch and due to multiple failed attempts to kill Skolas (ALL DUE TO GLITCHING, i will post a video of this if needed) i was unable to complete my moments of Triumph Still i was happy and didn't complain (its only an emblem i suppose) Day before the launch the Area manager for GAME in my county cancels all the local stores midnight launches due to the content not being active until 10am tuesday, so i was unable to collect my new console and double copies of The Taken King until Tuesday afternoon (launch day) during my dinner hour Ok not the end of the world i know theres plenty of time to play that night I walk into GAME and purchase my preordered PS4 and Collectors Edition Game Limited Edition The Taken King PS4 - £319.99 Collectors Edition of The Taken King - £79.99 I take my Bag from the clerk all happy and then ask "oh what about my SUROS codes?" the clerk advises me that its on my receipt I check the receipt and can only see one code, so i question this and the clerk advises me i only earned one code I then explain I've bought the console and game, and another copy of the game He advises me that ACTIVISION only issue the codes for the game on its own (not what the website had implied) So not very happy as i had planned to give the second copy that was with the console to a Clan member who was unable to purchase The Taken King at launch for personal reasons but wanted to be there with me playing on Day one I would have liked to have given him the SUROS code as well So at this point I'm a little pissed that purchasing over £300 of Destiny hardware and game didn't get me a simple code to get some extra guns in game (that will probably be dismantled eventually but not the point) I then check PSN to see that every person who preordered any version of the Digital Edition Upgrade got the SUROS pack Now at this point you have to realise I own DESTINY and BOTH expansions so I've just purchased a big chunk of Content i already have TWICE! By Home time I'm calmer and still really excited to play Now I'm aware there was a massive 18GB patch the week prior but i have a 150MB Highspeed fiber optic broadband connection so even at that size I'm confident i will be on by 10pm plus as I've bought the equivalent of a GAME OF THE YEAR edition of destiny all previous patches will be on the disk and speed up install time I get home and open my new hardware and game to complete shock The Game has THE ORIGINAL DESTINY DISK I ALREADY OWN, WITH VERSION 1.0 ON DISK AND A DOWNLOAD CODE FOR THE TAKEN KING CONTENT BUNGIE/ACTIVISION HADNT EVEN REPRINTED THE DISK WITH THE TAKEN KING ARTWORK!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/skreama/IMG_7688_zps0haj0ygk.jpg So i set it all up and put in the second copy of the disk i already have and try to relax I then get hit with the following http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/skreama/IMG_7609_zpsuc74qcvc.jpg 18GB PATCH AND A 12 HOUR WAIT! this is at 8pm on launch day i give up on the idea of playing on launch day/night and close Facebook to avoid spoilers and go to bed i awaken at 8am on day 2 and think at least i can play it now, I've booked the day off it will all be worth it! and i encounter this when i turn the tv back on (the console was on all night) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v286/skreama/WTF_zps9ozkhw3i.png 9 HOURS REMAINING WTF!!!!!! So i check my connection and all is running at full speed so i wait The update finished installing at 12.32am on 17th September 28 AND A HALF HOURS TO PATCH AND INSTALL A GAME I ALREADY OWN AND HAVE PURCHASED 3 TIMES! What the hell is going on??? Where are you guys hosting the Patch???? How is that possible???? at this point I'm pissed and tired and log in and all i am able to do is quickly walk the tower So all my loyalty and commitment and MONEY £634.98 and time rewarded me by not letting me play my favourite games biggest add-on till 2 days after launch And on top of that i didn't get the SUROS code i was promised Then the final nail i find out all the Players that just upgraded through PSN (£39.99) received an EXCLUSIVE PS4 THE TAKEN KING THEME!!!! FOR FREE its doesn't seem like a lot and probably isn't in the grand scheme of things but the whole thing has left a bitter taste in my mouth and felt like my investment just screwed me in the Ass
