Yes... but IF you have multiple consoles you can't be signed into more than one at a time... this effectively prevents you from playing TTK with other people in the same household unless you purchase an additional TTK for a different account.

So what happens to people who play on a console that has the game unlocked, they get drops and pick up quests, and then they return home to their own console? Their account will be filled with items and quests they don't have access to causing a whole bunch of potential problems. At least realize why they want the authorized owner logged in.

  • It will probably show up as "classified content" or "requires the Taken King"... My Pre-order stuff showed up on my Xbone a few days before I could install TTK in my 360... my Shader and Emblem just weren't there... it auto-equipped a common Emblem and a default no-shader. I've had similar issues with crap like the GameStop Sparrow and the Limited Edition Items (Frontier Shell and the Ship).

  • That's what's happening to me right now! My taken king stuff works great, but my expansion 1&2 stuff say, "requires purchase" and the missons are locked out. weird, huh?

  • If you're on the 360 or the One... Try downloading the previous DLC again. No problems on the One, but I had to reinstall compatibility patches 5 and up (again) to play on my 360.

  • If the terms of purchase said that up front that would be one thing, but they don't. They explicitly state that other accounts on the same console will have access. So any difficulties that poses for Bungie are not my problem, they need to upload the terms of the purchase agreement.

  • Sorry, but your reason doesn't work for me. This is a cash grab, forcing people to pay for 3, 4, 5 accounts on a single console is nuts and I'm sure that Bungie/Activision is waiting to see how many people will do this and if the number is great enough this will be the new standard going forward as well since I'm sure every other gaming company will jump on the bandwagon and implement it. At $59 per at 5 accounts that's over $250 dollars...you should keep that in mind yourself

  • Agreed. My 10 year old is expected to pay for an expansion that I've already bought? Sheesh...
