How the hell is this a dilemma for feminists (or anyone who is not insane, really)?

They cannot criticize the father without criticizing the belief system that led him to do what he did, which is a problem because feminists are liberals who want to believe that there's nothing wrong with Islam and that we're just oppressing them.
-
Why wouldn't a feminist criticize people whose beliefs don't let people save women? That's what feminists want. Well, real feminists, not the imaginary ones you're talking about.

Edited by car15: 9/15/2015 10:54:31 PMMost feminists do not want to be seen to express any opinion that could be taken as politically incorrect. They couch their own self-interest in weasel words and falsehoods to make it appear all-inclusive and politically correct, even though it is not.
-
I have no idea who or what you're talking about. Frankly, I think you're just hating on "feminists" because that's the 'Internet cool thing' to do. Every feminist I've ever heard speak or read about is very against 'traditional' practices like this. That's kind of the entire point of their existence. How about this: Can I get an example of a feminist who defends practices like the father in your OP, maybe?
-
They are against those practices and that is the point of their existence. The point is that they are hypocrites. They won't comment on situations like these because they don't want to deal with delicate issues like political correctness and religious freedom or the implications therein. They just want to construct a simple narrative that men are oppressors and they tend to cut out anything that complicates that.
-
The story in your OP is that a male police officer used his authority to prevent lifeguards doing their jobs. That's a man oppressing a toddler to death. The evil feminists lurking in your mind would love this opportunity. You're doing the exact thing you're criticizing, which is creating a simple narrative (Feminists are liars who are just out to get men), then refusing to back it up. I notice that you didn't give me an actual feminist or feminist group who is not condemning practices like the one in your OP. It's because feminist groups are more than willing to speak out against religious oppression.
-
She wasn't a toddler. I believe she was 20 years old. In the Middle East, if a woman is unmarried (which she was), then she still belongs to her father. Her age is irrelevant. Do I need to go find an actual feminist community for you? Sigh. Alright. Hold on.
-
Oh, when you said "young girl" in your OP, I thought you meant a toddler. And I''m not just asking for a feminist community, I'm asking for one that is doing what you accuse them of doing, which is not speaking out against practices like the one you described. Feminists groups exist to speak out against these practices, not ignore them.
