Many games are like this. Each account needs to have purchased the new content. Otherwise that means an account is getting stuff for free. Which is unfair to people that are paying for it.

  • its completely fair if they are in the same household. I see no reason why me and my husband should pay 80 dollars just for the basic TTK dlc.

That's like saying if you buy a hard disc you can't share it with your family in the same house. And Xbox 360 has its own gamesharing policies that Bungie can't very well intend to override, can they? It's hardly fair to make a family of players pay for an individual copy if they literally use the same console, at that point you're practically expecting a family of gamers to drop hundred(s) of dollars on your content even if it's only for one console. It's not family friendly at all, it's grubby and ill suited for Bungie after so many other bad calls. You'd think they'd try appealing to their consumers for once instead of shitting on them.

  • Content sharing is left, in most cases, to the content creator to set the policy. If they want it per account, not per system, they have that right. Software is handled differently than hardware.

  • Except Bungie openly stated that while they don't support game sharing, it is up to the platform policy, meaning Xbox 360, etc decide. Xbox Live has always allowed shared content (because they have it set up with families in mind, not just solo players who they are trying to make money off of), meaning we should be able to share it...no questions asked. Think about it like this...you buy a basketball....does that mean everyone else has to buy a basketball just to play with you? No. It's as simple as that, and the fact this is even a problem just goes to show that Bungie is much too greedy.

  • Why change what they did with TDB and HoW? It was allowed then...

  • Their prerogative. If they feel this is how they wish to do business, that is their choice. They also do not need to provide notice of this type of process change.

I've already contacted Xbox 360 support and they said their engineers were already working with Bungie to fix the problem. This is not, as far as anyone can tell, Bungie exercising their 'prerogative.' This was either a mistake, or perhaps it was Activision. After reading the legendary collection's description, it read that Activision could mod and discontinue their services without notice. But depending on how you interpret this; Destiny isn't Activision's service, nor can a game be described as a service. It's a product. And the people who're providing the service? Bungie. Activision merely published it. The only service they've provided is publishing. I wonder if I got a good enough lawyer, if they'd be able to argue this stance. Probably not but I think it would make someone's brow sweat for a hot second if they realized by wording alone we could overcome this obstacle.

  • You say that Xbox is dealing with this issue- what about PSN?

I honestly wasn't even aware PSN was having this issue... Are there a lot of you? I just tried again a few seconds ago and got the same error code as this morning. Xbox is my system, I haven't talked to their support. They're probably hassling Bungie as soon as they got in the office though. I think this was either a mistake, or Activision mischief. Like maybe the specification only the content buyer gets the Suros Pack somehow got jumbled in the coding or w/e and it made the entire DLC that way? I'm not really a professional, I was just trying to talk nicely to support. You should try the same if you can ever get the chance. I had to wait about half an hour each time we contacted them. Me and my brother were supposed to be getting our characters ready for the Raid. Now, along with all of you, we are waiting eagerly to throw money at the screen. @.@

  • So I assume you work for Bungie. We are trying to get a straight up answer from Bungie or our money back. We all love the game, and have played for many hours, and spent hard earned money on it. The fact that they allowed "sharing" of the base game and both expansions, led most gamers to believe the same would be true of the next expansion. When you purchase a season pass, there are explicit warnings not to purchase the individual modules of the game, as they are included with the pass. A similar warning of "Separate purchase required for Sub-accounts" could have saved me the trouble of going to my bank and disputing the charge for TTK. As I see it, Bungie did this purposely, without warning in an attempt to make players say "Blam! it, I'll just pay and pay and pay until I can play. And this is only one example of apparent shady practices! Look at the forums and the people buying multiple versions of TTK in hopes that just 1 of them will work!

  • Fair comment.. But there is a difference between 'Open' and 'Underhand'.. This is quite underhand imo. We've obviously been kept in the dark about this.

  • Its not unfair as digital content is almost double the price to account for this
