I like my BenQ, but damn, I like LG's IPS screens too. Price was a factor for me, as well as colour reproduction (as an artist). I ended up picking up a 32" 4K UHD and liked the BenQ more personally. Viewing angle is alright, too.

  • Right, I just want a monitor that the game will look as good on as my Samsung LCD TV, but perform better obviously. Like you said, those LG IPS monitors look amazing, most likely beating out BenQ in that regard, but as far as performance (limiting input lag), probably not. It's simply a tradeoff. Also, I'm kind of wondering if a first person shooter would look weird at first on an ultrawide monitor. Might take a little while to get used to. Thanks for the picture and the help!

  • I knew even just from the brands you've mentioned that you've definitely done due diligence and looked around first. :) You get used to the side display pretty quickly. Either way, you won't be downgrading. Since mine is sort of a crazy model in particular I can't really help much though. I'm aware that the response time is quicker than most displays but I don't notice it personally. I play most of my games on a plasma TV though and the difference in screen tech is definitely noticeable, going between the two. The BenQ is much brighter and sharper even at a glance. But if I had the choice/funding to go with an LG, I would have. But I don't regret getting what I did either! I've never seen a BenQ in person before ordering mine so I was a little nervous. The stand for it is adjustable and sleek enough. Different strokes for different folks, too. Do you sit closely to your screen? At you planning to buy one retail or online? Retail will let you return your screen if it isn't doing it for you, but if you wanted to try an ultrawide before investing into your "keeper", you could also do that. Always exciting xD

  • Yeah I sit pretty close. My TV is on my dresser which is sort of high, so the screen isn't eye level (neck sometimes hurts when playing for awhile), which is another reason why I'm getting a monitor. And I most likely will buy it off amazon since I can finance the purchase interest free for 6 months and I'm buying other stuff through amazon also. Thanks for your response!

  • Ahh yeah, then viewing angle is important too. I got mine off of Amazon too. ;D Do you have the credit card or something? I've never been offered financing D:

  • It's through the amazon store card (which is like a credit card). They are currently offering a promotion for interest free financing if over $150. Just bought a new Astro a40 headset, and will eventually be buying a new spacious desk. I'm an accountant also and will be working from home sometimes so it will be much needed. lol
