2.0 encouraged me to drop my sniper rifle and use a shotgun.
Any sniper rifle enthusiast probably noticed a difference in the mechanics. It is much harder to snipe in the crucible now. When you are scoped in and you come under fire in 2.0 there is almost no chance of you landing a head shot because the reaction to being shot is now exaggerated greatly. Before it was still very possible to land the headshot to defend yourself. I think it was Bungie's way of trying to make the unflinching perk more useful, because you know, it's their perk and they want you to play the way they want you to play. In my opinion it was a mistake, I thought sniping was perfectly balanced and now it is much more difficult which led to me switching to my shotgun which I hate using because as everyone will tell you, they are cheap no skill ways of getting on the scoreboard in 6v6 matches.

Sniping was abused in Crucible (Ever play Skirmish) and the mechanics were exploited (Drag shooting). I've seen many the video of people bragging about their sniping skills but it's all mostly drag shooting (Mouse dragging on the PC). It's a tactic that takes advantage of hit-detection and Lag. It's a platform wide issue with sniping. Sniping is Aiming, Targeting, shooting. With Drag shooting you are moving your aim to/across your target and pulling the trigger at the right time and with a skillful enough player makes avoiding a sniper very rough either running or jumping. I'm not saying it's not a skillful thing to do or to master, I'm just saying that it's not really how 'sniping' (as a mechanic) should be allowed to work. If they've instituted something that makes that harder to do then congrats on them.
