They think they're still the Flood. It's over. Humans are naturally afraid of change, and this is a perfect example.

But... we are still the Flood. What's changed in that regard?
-
Nothing, but also everything. Some legendary Floodians left on their own, others to 343. Few remain. We've been plagued by Desticles. Now, most of the original Floodians are gone, replaced by newer people. Change has come.

The Flood has always existed in a constant state of change. I've been here since 2006 (not on this particular account, this is an alt) and I've seen more people come and go than I care to admit. It's a forum. It's not defined by a handful of big-name people, but by a culture that gets passed down from one "generation" of gamers to the next. It transcends individual people. We are plagued by Desticles, it's true, but that's nothing new. When Reach came out, we were plagued with newfomans who liked the new CoD-inspired game features. When Halo 3 came out, we were plagued with little kids who had never played a Halo game before. Each time, it was The End Of The World (TM) for the Flood. Every new game absolutely ruined the entire franchise, and the influx of new members destroyed the culture of the Flood. And yet somehow [/sarcasm] we survived. Every time. One other thing: I'm pretty sure no self-respecting Floodian would actually quit this place in favor of 343's bullshit excuse for a forum. U even serious m8?

No, not really. Hopefully, #OffTopic may grow almost as legendary As the Flood.

Correct.
