I get surplus on everything I can. I even save green/blue with surplus since I'd rather use those than a purple without it. Having surplus in both special and heavy is great and if I am using an exotic in one of those slots, then Atleast I'll have one active surplus going. I enjoy picking up one ammo box and completely filling me up.
