NEW YORK -- A federal judge deflated Deflategate on Thursday, erasing New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's four-game suspension for a controversy that the NFL claimed threatened football's integrity.
U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell went too far in affirming punishment of the Super Bowl-winning quarterback. Brady has insisted he played no role in a conspiracy to deflate footballs below the allowable limit at last season's AFC Championship Game.
The written decision frees Brady to prepare for the Sept. 10 season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

2 RepliesObviously you linked the actual article, but the snippet you gave us is only a half truth. While judge Berman overturned the suspension, it wasn't because Brady is innocent, its because the NFL committed several procedural infractions. Brady's suspension is being overturned due to technicalities, not innocence. Had the NFL done their due diligence, provided the NFLPA with the complete Well's report evidence, had followed the CBA agreed upon punishment and allowed Brady's lawyers to cross examine all witnesses equally, Brady would, more than likely, be suspended for cheating.
